Welcome to issue #6 of teenLook! When I first had the 

idea to put the magazine together earlier this year, I never 

thought I would be in it this deep. I absolutely love the creative 

process of building each issue for you guys. I can’t even 

begin to count the hours invested between emails, research 

and the actual process of building each issue every month. 

I’m doing this on my own. Having Dara come on board to 

help with social networking has been an enormous help, as 

that frees up more time for me here. 

I have had a few messages and responses concerning 

income and revenue about the magazine. I have to be 

frank; this is not about earning money for my time here, 

because any money generated by the sales just covers my 

Adobe subscription and the various stock photography and 

licensing fees incurred to create the publication. Regardless, 

it is a creative outlet that I love to do, and I hope to continue 

doing this and creating something you all can be proud to 

be featured in. I can’t do it without your support and sharing 

what we are all building together, though. Please spread the 

word and be involved as much as you want to help get the 

publication seen across Canada and the world! 

This month is an exceptional theme as we focus on the 

Veterans and the service of all Military Personnel everywhere. 

Please remember and pay your respects to those that 

serve. I feel very honoured to include Robert “Mac” Torrie 

as the special feature this month. His life’s work is a shining 

example for us all to look up to and respect. Also, it is with 

great pride that we showcase Arizona Skeoch as this month’s 

cover model. I can’t wait to see where her career takes her. 

Another note, I am going to try and keep the issue page 

count lower. This means I won’t be able to include as many 

models, but I hope you all understand and will keep submitting 

for the next issue if I couldn’t fit you in this one. I 

am trying to keep the price of each issue as low as I can, and 

fewer pages are the only way.

The Day the Poppies Bloomed 

The field cradled the body of a lifeless soldier, 

The stain of his blood made the day so much colder. 

I’d imagined his pleas as he was brought to his knees, 

How can man justify such savage killing sprees? 

For it’s a heavy cross to bear, 

The price of warfare. 

Those lost lay so courageous and young, 

Countless heroes tragically unsung. 

I wish I knew each soldier’s story, 

And whether they received their final glory. 

Were they awarded medals of bravery? 

Or, were they serving in conscripted slavery? 

While generals counted those slain, 

Had they ever wondered if their men died in vain? 

For many say, two wrongs don’t make a right, 

Especially when it ends in a deadly fight. 

As no one truly wins when there is fighting, 

Because love is achieved only through uniting. 

At the eleventh hour, during a moment of silence, 

We pray for an end to violence, 

And for the men and women who lost their lives, 

To ensure peace survives. 

May they never be forgotten, 

Our freedom which was begotten. 

Today, delicate red flowers are revealed, 

Marking those fallen on the battlefield, 

So we may remember, each mid-November… 

The day the poppies bloomed.

Priyanka started modelling when she was 

six years old, winning the Barbie Model 

Search as the Favourite winner. Three years 

later, she participated in the Gading Model 

Search for Kids, and she was a finalist. She 

has trained under the famous Indonesian 

model, Ms. Kimmy Jayanthi. 

Last summer Priyanka joined the Teen Indonesia 

Beauty Pageant. She has just recently 

been an icon for the Solo Batik Fashion 

2019, one of the biggest fashion events in 

Surakarta. 

She continues to pursue modelling and 

school studies. Her belief is that there 

needs to be a balance between her talents 

and study. 

Oleander Ribie is the 12 year-old designer 

from Indonesia who designed this 

summer collection outfit.

I’m the coolest person I know. There I said it. 

Interview over. Kidding. Sounds totally high on 

myself, right? Not really. When someone calls 

you up and says hey, we want you to write all 

about yourself for us to put in a magazine for 

TONS of people to read all about you and what 

you do….. you have to admit 

– pretty cool. And absolutely 

terrifying.

Be the coolest person 

you know! 

It’s difficult for me to talk 

about myself most days. When people ask me 

what I do, I always have a moment of terror 

and feel all shy as I respond with the usual -I’m 

a designer. I make clothes out of paper. That’s 

when the response usually comes – Oh? How’s 

that? The answer is always the same - Awesome 

actually. 

When I first started out on this little adventure, 

I never thought it would become something 

to talk about. I started out the same way 

everything does. I 

saw something that 

made me think; I can 

do that. And I did. 

Sounds pretty simple 

right? Everything 

we do in life starts 

with an idea of sorts, 

whether it be riding 

a bike, learning 

to drive, or building 

model planes. The 

trick to being creative 

isn’t about having the

ideas – it’s about being determined and passionate 

about making those ideas come to life. I had 

a lot fails at first. And I mean A LOT. Making a 

paper dress is cool and all, but taking them off 

the mannequin and putting them on a person 

without having them fall apart everywhere is a 

whole different challenge. 

As my skills have evolved 

and seeing this passion grow, 

I find I still get stuck when 

people ask me about it. Even 

though these designs started 

as a personal challenge, the question I get asked 

most often is how I got into doing it. But that’s 

never the question I want to talk about. I did it 

because I could. Cause one idea led me to another, 

which led to this and that and ta-da! Paper 

stuffs. My secret isn’t people sending me millions 

of dollars for each dress, and it’s not a personal 

studio and tons of free time to dedicate to this 

craft. My secret is this – be inspired. My designs 

are all about showing the things people can do, 

bringing beauty, bringing the imagination into 

something that’s otherwise quite ordinary. Being 

inspired by things around me, and people around 

me, wanting to make something to inspire someone 

to see more, to be more. We are all more 

than we appear to be, and we are all made better 

when we grow and come together. 

A pile of paper is just that. Until we help it become 

roses and feathers. So I can make a pretty 

dress. But it’s never complete until someone 

puts it on and says – 

“This makes me feel so beautiful.”

Faith is a natural athlete, an academic and an 

avid dancer. Faith loves being on stage and 

in front of the camera. As an up and coming 

model and actress, Faith has spent time in Los 

Angeles studying television. She had the opportunity 

to participate in Disney’s new show 

Just Roll With It. One of Faith’s most memorable 

moments was having the opportunity 

to learn from the great John Rhys-Davies on 

the set of the movie, Moments In Space-Time.

"A GOOD CONVERSATION" 

With Remembrance Day coming 

up this November 11’th, teenLook 

wants to emphasize the importance 

of the day. 

A day to reflect and remember 

the lives of the soldiers that have 

fought and died in their military 

service to our country. 

November 11’th is the anniversary 

date of the Armistice agreement 

of 1918 that ended World 

War 1. The red poppy we wear as 

a symbol of Remembrance Day 

was inspired by Lieutenant-Colonel 

John McCrae’s poem “In 

Flanders Fields.” 

I had the pleasure to sit down 

and speak one on one with Veteran, 

Robert M. Torrie, who goes 

by “Mac.” We spent about three 

hours together at the Kingsway 

Legion, Branch No. 175 in Edmonton, 

AB talking, laughing and 

enjoying each other’s company. 

It indeed was an honour getting to 

know more about this fine gentleman 

and his life. 

Mac had planned to join the Canadian 

Army for three years, but 

as he reminisces, 

“I forgot to come home.” 



Master Warrant Officer - Retired 

Canadian Armed Forces 

Mac was born in Dauphin, MB, Canada 

on August 30, 1944. Growing up on a 

Mixed farm and attending school in the 

Dauphin-Ochre Area School District of 

Manitoba. 

“While in High School, I 

joined the Army Cadets, then 

the Canadian Army (Militia) 

and that’s where my liking 

for the military started.” 

At the age of 17, Mac joined the Canadian 

Army (Regular) in 1962. Signing 

up for the trade of Field Engineer (now 

called Combat Engineer)

Mac spent nearly four decades of 

his life devoted to and serving his 

country in the Canadian Military. 

On various home-based operations 

across Canada, as well as participating 

in numerous overseas United 

Nations (UN) Peacekeeping missions 

that took him to the Sinai Desert 

(now Palestine) Germany and Yugoslavia. 

In 1987, Mac participated as an 

exchange instructor in England. 

There he trained English soldiers as 

a demolitions instructor for three 

years. 

Along with Mac, he was fortunate 

to have his wife accompany him for 

most of his overseas deployments. 

The two met in Chilliwack, BC and 

were married in 1969. They have 

been side by side ever since, having 

just celebrated fifty years of marriage 

this past July. 

A unique opportunity for Mac was 

during the mid-eighties at the Canadian 

Forces Base Shilo, Manitoba. 

The sprawling Manitoba base was 

used primarily for tank training. 

More than 4,000 German soldiers 

have come to Shilo each year since 

1974, and for 25 years, the German 

Military conducted heavy weapon 

operational exercises. They had 

roughly sixty Leopard tanks on base.

training fields.

In 1997, Upon retiring from the Regular 

Forces, Mac transferred to the Primary 

Reserve Force for an additional two and 

a half years. 

“I am a proud holder of the 

Order of Military Merit (MMM), 

the Canada Decoration with 2 

bars, the Order of Alberta and 

other Service Medals, which 

are on the left side of my 

blazer.”

Continuing with his life of discipline 

and service, Mac is still active with 

the Royal Canadian Legion and served 

as President of the Kingsway Legion, 

Branch No. 175 Edmonton, AB. in 2002 

for five years. He continues today to 

serve as Immediate Past President. 

“The Legion is Canada’s largest Veteran 

and community service organization. Our 

membership includes currently serving 

and retired Canadian Armed Forces and 

Royal Canadian Mounted Police members, 

as well as the mothers and fathers, wives 

and husbands, sons and daughters, and 

grandchildren of Veterans. Each of these 

individuals is impacted by the care our 

Veterans receive and the issues affecting 

them. 

We also welcome into our membership 

those without military affiliation who support 

Canada’s Veterans. Legion members, 

whether they have served or not, help 

Veterans and their families, promote Remembrance, 

support Legion programs, and 

volunteer their time to provide essential 

services within their communities.”

The ammunition size for this gun is 

155mm. “It’s not a tank as many people 

think.” I discovered my error quickly while 

we discussed taking photos outside with the 

“tank!”

education.”

Grace has been a gymnast since four and 

now trains as an elite gymnast 24 hrs a 

week. She won the gold in the bristol 

championships for her age recently. Grace 

started modelling last year, and she really 

loves it, as it’s so different from being in 

the gym, and she gets to let her hair down!

Arizona has been involved in the Royal 

Canadian Cadet Corps for five years 

and was just recently promoted since 

our photoshoot, to Warrant Officer. Her 

dedication and involvement with the 

Cadet program made her this month’s 

choice to be featured. 

Being brand new to the modelling industry, 

it is a pleasure to introduce Arizona in her 

first published feature here in teenLook. 

She has just recently completed the Walk 

the Talk modelling course in Edmonton, and 

her confidence showed! 

This young lady has a bright future ahead 

of her, and this is just the beginning of her 

story.

Cadets has been an incredible journey for me, teaching me leadership 

and different aspects of the military. I have made countless 

friends with the program, and I highly recommend it for young 

people to join. 

I was one of the fortunate ones that were able to travel to Vimy 

Ridge in France. Seeing this monument and the names of soldiers 

that died for us was so surreal. It gave me a better understanding 

of Remembrance Day and the soldiers that died for our freedom. 

We went to several other cemeteries like Beny-Sur-Mer Canadian 

War Cemetery and Juno Beach. It was beautiful but really sad at 

the same time. My eyes were opened to the loss of life for us. I 

feel I should help educate people about our Wars. 

In cadets, you grow to understand things so much better; cadets is 

not just about obedience, being strict, but also about opening up 

your mind and wanting to become someone other people can respect. 

We learn about Remembrance Day, and we learn to observe 

it. It is essential that everyone must do so. Our world wouldn’t be 

our world without these soldiers losing there lives for us. 

My plans are to finish high school and look into something related 

to teaching and helping children. 

I went through some things in this last year, and I realize how important 

my family and education is to me. They believe in me and 

have stood by me through the good, bad and ugly. I want to help 

other children that don’t have the support I have. I hope that when 

I have children that I am able to be there for my children as my 

family is for me. If you would like to talk about what I did, I will sit 

down and talk about it.

I was born in 2005. When I was 7, I became interested 

in martial arts and devoted my free time to 

training in karate. By the age of 11, I have achieved 

successes, became the winner and prize-winner of 

international and Russian competitions. 

For the first time, I have tried myself as a model at 

the age of 11 with photographer Evgeny Glotov (@ 

eglotov). This photoshoot was a fascinating portraiture 

experiment, both for the photographer and me. 

Evgeny believed that this time would be an ordinary 

children’s photoshoot, but the result exceeded all 

his expectations. Subsequently, he wrote about how 

my workability and professionalism surprised him. 

My first catwalk appearance was the fashion show 

by Russian designers at the 15th season of ESTET 

FASHION WEEK. 

A great success was meeting the portrait photographer 

Anton Leonov (@tonik_al), who offered me a 

stylized photoshoot. This creative union has grown 

into a professional job. As a result, amazing frames 

were born. They show my nature, potential and 

personality. Thanks to the resulting portraits, promotional 

offers followed. 

In the summer of 2019, I participated in an advertising 

campaign with the Adidas AG - winter season 

2019 and The Procter & Gamble Gillette brand. 

At the age of 13, I played more than ten roles in 

feature films and short films, I have a Cambridge English 

PET for Schools certificate, additionally study 

German, want to study directing and devote myself 

to the cinema.

My dream is to become a famous redhead 

model. I wish to show to everyone that my hair 

colour is very lovely, and I wish that everyone 

respects the difference between different people. 

Every time I post on Instagram, I transmit a message 

such as, take care of nature...and let there 

be no more injustice on earth. I know that there 

is a lot to do, but if everyone does something 

for it, I’m sure we can change this world. 

I live with my mum, father and my brother, Louis, 

who also wishes to become a model. Maybe 

he wants to be like me - I don’t know, but it’s 

funny. 

I’m also happy to have a cute Chihuahua dog 

called Rosette. My family lives together in beautiful 

harmony. 

In the future, I Don’t exactly know what I’m going 

to do. For the moment, I continue to study 

hard, and let’s see what happens next!

IN MEMORY OF 

MY UNCLE DAN 

This month as we remember Veterans and service personnel that 

have served their countries, I want to take this moment to remember 

my Uncle. He was a Vietnam Veteran. 

Some readers will have gathered enough information from past 

issues to know that I have spent some time in the Philippines and 

that my wife is a Filipina. We were married here in Canada and 

had a second, more traditional marriage in the Philippines in 2012. 

It was a beautiful experience, and I absolutely loved it there. My 

Uncle Dan, or as I called him, Tatay Dan. (Father) He stood in 

place of my father (who died when I was younger) at our marriage 

ceremony. It was my first time to meet Dan. He was married to my 

wife’s aunt. He’s an American who loved to smoke and drink a lot. 

We had a great time getting to know each other, and I learned quite 

a bit about his past and the pain and memories from his time serving 

during the Vietnam War. He saw a lot of men die and lost some 

close friends. I could see the pain in his tears he shed during these 

intimate conversations. My wife’s family lives in the Ilocos region, 

which is on the west side of the Islands. Ironically, this is directly 

across the waterway facing Vietnam. 

For me, it was nice having a fellow “white” family friend in the 

area, and I was looking forward to seeing him again after we left. 

Then I received the news in February 2017. Dan had been fatally 

shot and had passed away. I was stunned. It wasn’t an accident; 

it was murder. A gunman had ridden his motorcycle up to Dan, 

who was walking on a busy street. It was mid-afternoon and just 

another day in paradise. Words were exchanged, and three or four 

bullets later, Dan lay dead in the street. I saw the photos, and it had 

a significant impact on me emotionally. 

Dan was living with PTSD. That was clear from his lifestyle. I knew 

the pain he carried with him, and I know that was what led to his 

untimely demise. I have experienced losing loved ones in my lifetime, 

but never to murder. It took me a long time to recover, but I 

found ways to deal with the pain. Being a creative person, my go-to 

outlet to work through trouble is to create. I wrote a short screenplay 

and filmed a story of a troubled soldier’s experience during 

the Vietnam conflict. 

We all have experienced pain in some form or another. Finding a 

way past the pain to healing is the most important thing. You don’t 

forget about the pain or loss, but you can move past it and regain 

what you once were. 

I haven’t forgotten about the pain. It is bringing tears to my 

eyes at this moment as I write this, but now I have moved 

forward and accepted the loss. That’s the purpose of therapy, 

to overcome the pain. This was my therapy. teenLook

league in Calgary. 

Nicholas enjoys travelling as it exposes 

one to other cultures and shows how their 

fashion differs from ours. Some of Nicholas’ 

inspiration for outfits are derived from fashion 

and models from other countries. Nicholas 

started modelling in 2019. He began 

modelling because of his interest in fashion. 

He appreciates the different examples of 

contemporary fashion of his basketball idols 

and the more traditional fashion of his tennis 

idols. He enjoys the various fashion styles 

he has experienced throughout his travels. 

He aspires to become an international model 

and hopes to make a career out of modelling.

Scarlett is new to modelling, the last

I was doing some research a couple days ago, 

and sometimes we can think we know more 

than we really do…. seriously, I definitely passed 

some time learning a few surprising fun facts, 

so I thought I’d share them with the Teen Look 

Family!

November is a time to reflect and appreciate 

the soldiers before us who represented 

Canada during World War I, World War II, The 

Korean War, and peacekeeping missions. With 

Remembrance Day just around the corner, it’s 

important we pause to show respect and acknowledgement 

to those who have passed 

away while fighting for our country. We need 

to be aware of the veterans who fought for the 

peace we now have. Without them, we wouldn’t 

have the peaceful and calm life which is now 

presented to us, all due to men who sacrificed 

themselves during this time. Fathers, Uncles, 

Brothers, Cousins, Husbands and loved ones 

were lost. People who had even more purpose 

than they were able to express during their 

short time were lost. Soldiers got hurt, and more 

hearts were just torn, and that’s why we need to 

remember the veterans on the particular day of 

November 11th 

• Your eyes blink about every 6 seconds, 

which averages out to 14,000 blinks per 

day…..that is over 5 million blinks a year! (I 

am aware you are now feeling weird about 

blinking) 

• Triple whammy- (read this, it’s important. 

You’ll thank me when I save your life) 

• First off, if you sneeze too hard, you can 

fracture a rib…. secondly, if you keep your 

eyes open by force while sneezing, you 

might pop an eyeball out. Lastly? If you try 

to suppress a sneeze by plugging your nose, 

you can rupture a blood vessel in your head 

or neck and die. (I told you it’s very important! 

You should listen to me!) 

• Wearing headphones for just an hour will increase 

the bacteria in your ear by 700 times! 

• A healthy person’s bones are 4 times stronger 

than concrete. 

• While dreaming, (not daydreaming, I mean in 

your sleep) you become paralysed until you 

wake up. 

• Most lipstick contains fish or snake scales! 

(eww repelling) 

• There are at least 5 people in this world who 

look almost exactly like you, but there’s only 

a 0.003% chance you’ll meet one of them. 

• Only 1% of humans have red hair. 

• Just before falling asleep when you are almost 

unconscious, 95% of your brain begins 

thinking about things you want to have. 

• Over 42% of teens can text with their eyes 

completely shut.

I have been modelling for just over a year now 

since August of 2018. I’ve always loved being 

behind the camera and travelling to new places I’ve 

never been to before for shoots. I’m always meeting 

new people, in and outside of the industry, and 

learning a lot. So far, I have worked with a bunch of 

brands, including Chixit, Stoic, Cirkus, Dirty politics, 

and a few more. 

I hosted my first event in September of 2019, 

arranging media coverage and interviews and a 

fashion pop-up expo in NYC. Additionally, I have 

been out of state a few times for shoots and events 

and even been on stage with the artist Gunna. 

Being a model isn’t as easy as it might look. I 

have to show up on my “A” game, and I always 

have to learn new ways to improve my posing, 

techniques, and interactions with everyone. 

Sometimes, I have close to 24 hour days full of 

photoshoots and events where I barely have 

time to sit down and eat and sleep. I have to 

watch what I eat and have to work out to maintain 

my body figure. Staying on top of my social media is 

equally as important, as I always work on improving 

my content and social interactions with my followers. 

However, everything I do is worth it. Success 

doesn’t come without hard work. 

My goal is to be known by many people, to be 

signed to an agency, and to achieve the goals I 

have. I hope to be on a billboard or the front page 

of a magazine.

Meet Vienna, a very talented young lady. 

She is an elite dancer/singer/musician/ 

actor/writer and model! In 2014, she was 

named one of 50 Most Beautiful Child 

Models, also being cast in ‘Les Miz’ and has 

won a Peace Award for her work advocating 

for animal rights. She will be returning 

to Germany at the end of this month to 

represent Canada at the World Championsips 

of Dance, performing a solo 

dance that she also choreographped. 

She shares her story of how she 

almost lost everything, but came 

back stonger than ever!

The sensation in my legs suddenly disappeared; 

I literally thought I was going to 

collapse. I could feel my heart knocking against 

my ribs with crippling anticipation as the IDO 

President taunted, “Canada or Croatia?” I 

couldn’t believe after four gruelling elimination 

rounds, and the announcement of the bronze 

medalist, they still hadn’t yet called my name. 

One of the two of us girls was going to win 

that coveted Gold Medal! 

Tears streamed down my face as my quivering 

body stood draped with a Canadian flag. The 

cheering of the spectators from the 5.500 seat 

SACHSENarena erupted louder and louder 

as the German MC presented the runner-up 

video dance clip.......there were my gold Ruben 

Sanchez tap shoes up on the Jumbotron. Although 

a millisecond of disappointment hit me, 

I became overcome with emotional pride with 

the announcement 

that I was 

called to the podium 

to receive 

my silver medal 

at the World Tap 

Championships! 

It was at that 

very moment last 

December 2018; 

I would receive 

the international 

ranking of the 

second-best Junior 

Female (tap 

dance) Soloist in 

the World! 

To think that 3.5 years prior to this 

event, I was confined to a wheelchair 

unable to walk, was simply surreal. 

Flashback to March Break 2015 

At the age of twelve, while on a March Break 

vacation to Barbados with my dad, I felt 

something latch onto my ankle, leaving a red 

bullseye mark. A few days later, while inflight 

back home to Toronto, my one eye dimmed 

to darkness like a theatre curtain falling. Then 

oddly, moments later, I was able to see again. 

Two days upon my return home, I awoke to 

blindness in that same eye, so my mom rushed 

me to emergency concerned that I had suffered 

a detached retina. I ended up losing my 

vision and colour vision due to optic neuritis 

(virus attacking the optic nerve) and eventually 

losing the use of my legs over the course 

of the next few months. I was never officially 

diagnosed after being admitted to the Hospital 

for Sick Kids, but it is believed that a tick 

bite likely left me with either Lyme Disease 

or Chikungunya Virus, which at that time, the 

latter was widespread on the Barbadian island. 

I was treated with a round of antibiotics, yet I

had almost every symptom 

of the insect-borne Chikungunya 

Virus. Blood work proved inconclusive. 

It was crazy to think that a competitive 

dancer who typically doesn’t even get 

colds, would without warning, suddenly become 

debilitated by an insect bite. I missed 

an entire term at school as I couldn’t even 

use the washroom facilities for myself, let 

alone see. I also had to postpone my dance 

training. It was at that point that I vowed, 

if I am ever able to walk again, I will rise to 

the very top of the genre of dance I enjoy 

most, which was tap. 

To think that at one dark moment of my 

tween life, I thought about wanting to die 

rather than remain a functionless cripple 

confined to a wheelchair. What if I had 

succumbed to my desperation? I would 

have never been gifted this most incredible 

day of my entire 

life. Following 

countless weeks 

of rehabilitation 

and intense 

dance training, 

I was selected 

through Team 

Canada qualifiers

to compete my solo in Germany at Worlds, 

which is the “Olympics of Dance”, winning 

TWO silver medals (a second silver for 

Production). Fortunately, other than some 

mild colour blindness, I made a full recovery 

thanks to some hyperbaric oxygen therapy. 

In four weeks from the time you’re reading 

my story, I’m hoping to return to Germany 

and give it my all to bring home that Gold 

Medal for my country competing the solo 

which I self-choreographed. 

The one lesson that I can share from all 

this is, in the face of adversity - FIGHT 

because quitters never win, and winners 

never quit, and no one knows what joy 

tomorrow may bring.

One of the best birthday gifts I ever 

received was a Pentax camera from 

my parents. I was a teenager and I 

loved that camera. It was a Pentax 

35mm camera that long preceded the 

days of digital. 

I loved photography and used the 

camera whenever I had the chance. I 

loved the art of composing moments 

frozen in time through the lens. Years 

later those photos provide a glimpse 

back in time – of my life as a younger 

person and the documented milestones 

and highlights of friends and 

family. 

I loved shooting nature, wildlife, architecture 

and always travelled with 

my camera close at hand – capturing 

magical travel moments in the UK, 

Europe, South East Asia, Australia 

and of course, Canada and the USA. 

I started shooting seriously in 2013 

and at that time decided to turn what 

had been a hobby into a business and 

so was born Devon Reed Photography 

and Video. Since then, I have shot 

baby photos, family photos, fashion 

shows, models, concerts, weddings, 

engagements and product photography. 

However, I have tried to narrow the 

scope of my photography to fashion, 

weddings, family, engagement and 

event photography. I truly do enjoy 

collaborating with models and 

creating interesting artistic visual 

concepts. 

I find that these model photo shoots 

tend to push me to experiment and 

become even more creative with the 

art of photography and drive me to 

continually get better at my craft. 

I have been blessed to have worked 

with a number of amazing people 

through this creative time, including 

models, makeup artists and other 

photographers. They have helped me 

see my subject even better through 

the lens. 

I’m a Canon shooter now and still 

pack my camera with me when travelling 

and still enjoy documenting 

trips and excursions through the lens 

of a camera. 

And although I still have the Pentax 

and a few of its lenses, I don’t use it 

anymore but it’s sure nice to have as a 

memory of where I started – and the 

best birthday gift I ever received.

Hi! My name is Melia, and I was born and 

raised in Edmonton, Alberta. I am 12 years 

old and in grade 7. 

My favourite subjects are math, because I 

love numbers and science, as it’s fascinating 

to think about dinosaurs and ocean life. Music 

has always inspired me to try new things. 

I dance hip hop as well as play the trumpet. 

I like playing volleyball and football and am
