Well, it’s that time of 

year when there are 

many eggnog lattes 

consumed, family all around and 

last-minute Christmas shopping! 

Truth is, I have not even started 

to shop... I definitely am not on 

the ball this holiday season! 

Christmas is something that my 

kids look forward to as soon as 

the snow hits the ground! Every 

night my youngest son asks if we 

can leave milk and cookies out for 

Santa. It is so cute! He just can’t 

wait any longer for the holidays! 

In my family, we celebrate Christmas 

on the 24th, 25th and 26th. 

Luckily because we are Danish 

and those festivities last a long 

time. We are always surrounded 

by our huge family and partake in 

a classic Chinese gift exchange 

and eat until we can not see 

our toes anymore! We truly are 

blessed. 

Regardless of what you celebrate, 

December is a wonderful month, 

and it always seems to bring 

out the best in people, food 

and gifts. 

There is one thing for sure 

you can count on being the 

best: another lovely issue of 

teenLook Magazine! I know 

you will all enjoy this beautiful 

December issue that 

James has worked so hard 

on!

Keely Herschmill 

Keely is a competitive dancer with six years 

of training at Connectivity Dance Ltd. With 

the influence of diverse instructors, Keely has 

experienced many genres of dance, such as 

Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern, Hip Hop, 

and Acrobatic Arts! 

Keely was scouted during the Inferno dance 

competition in Camrose, AB, where she was 

presented with a scholarship to attend the 

Be Discovered, Broadway Bound in New York 

city! Keely was given the amazing opportunity 

to showcase her astounding talent on 

Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre, 

where she performed her Broadway debut. 

Keely was also fortunate to work with Disney, 

Dance the Magic, which lead her into an 

audition with CGTV. Keely is humbled and 

happy to say that she received a call back 

from CGTV, and is now training to become 

an actor under the direction of the famous 

actor named Adrian R’Mante. Her big break 

is right around the corner and is only a matter 

of time before she signs a deal. Keely has 

also recently graduated from Walk The Talk 

Modelling course. She is very blessed to have 

Dara, former teen IMG model, as her personal 

modelling mentor! On top of all these exciting 

events, Keely is an exceptional student 

with a GPA of 88%, which is quite impressive 

with such a busy schedule. She also holds the 

title of Top 25 Child Model of the Year 2019 

with Child Model Magazine! 

Keely wants to give thanks to all of her instructors, 

mentors, family, and friends who 

have believed in her and helped make her 

dreams come true!

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved 

being in the spotlight and making little artistic 

productions with pictures and videos. It all 

started with my old pink DS I got for Christmas 

as 7…the pictures and music video’s 

started, and have never stopped! As any 

girl does, I spent a lot of time dressing up, 

wearing my mom’s heels and having a lot of 

fun photo-shoots with my friends. For my 

10th birthday, we even celebrated by having 

a Model/Rock-start themed birthday party 

with a red-carpet and pink limo and definitely 

glammed it up. 

On the sporty side, I have played junior high 

and club volleyball for the last two years and 

really love it! When you’re tall, it’s a great 

sport to get into. I never thought I would 

make the team in grade 7 as I’ve always been 

uncoordinated, but miraculously – it was my 

thing! 

Modelling has always been a dream of mine. 

Having hair and make-up done, and walking 

the runway for amazing designers has been 

surreal. This experience has been a blast so 

far, and I would aspire to walk in both Paris 

and NY fashion week. I can’t wait to see 

where this journey takes me!

Based out of Drayton Valley, AB, Canada, Michelle is an extremely 

talented designer. She creates custom gowns, provides alteration 

services and offers Day of Detail packages for your special event 

or occasion. 

She lent us some of her amazing works to be worn by our cover 

model, Makaela, this month. See more on page 32 

Fifteen years ago, as a young 

teen, Michelle Bossert fell in 

love with historical fashion. 

Still, it came as no surprise, 

considering she has six 

generations of seamstresses 

in her family. After several 

years of dabbling in fashion 

design and working as an 

assistant in her mum’s bridal 

shop, she had created an extensive 

collection of historical 

pieces. This impressive 

body of work contributed to 

her acceptance in the Costuming 

for Stage and Screen 

Certificate programme at 

Capilano University in Vancouver. 

Graduation was followed by 

a season of theatre practicum 

and some time abroad 

travelling the UK, after which 

she returned to her small 

hometown of Drayton Valley 

about 2 hours southwest of 

Edmonton. 

Continuing to build her skill 

sets during several years of 

working part time side jobs 


and sewing, in 2017, Michelle 

was able to step into 

full-time seamstressing and 

design. 

Showcasing previous work 

at Fashion Fest in June 2017 

and releasing her “First 

Look” collection at Western 

Canada Fashion Week 

the following March 2018 

opened doors and created 

invaluable connections 

within the local fashion, 

photography and modelling 

community. Through these 

connections, her gowns 

have begun to travel across 

the province, 

country, and most 

recently internationally 

for a 

Pageant Cruise 

and Voyager Gown 

photoshoot in 

New York. 

Working with 

the local creative 

community, and 

being inspired by 

top international 

couture designers, 

she has an ever-growing 

collection of gowns for rent 

and sale. While her current 

endeavour includes alterations 

services for all types 

of formal wear, she has a 

specialty and passion for 

bridal work. She is pursuing 

a full-time focus on bespoke 

couture wedding gowns, 

with high hopes to one day 

show in Paris and London. 

Watch for her newest collection 

releasing March 21st 

at the Spring 2020 Western 

Canada Fashion Week.

Christmas 100 years ago...

What was Christmas like 

for teenagers a hundred years 

ago? Well, that takes us back 

to the year 1919, and all over 

the world, people were trying 

to get back to normal after 

the end of the First World 

War. World War One ended 

in November 1918, and so for 

many people, that Christmas 

would have been a tough one. 

Seventeen million people 

died, and 37 million were 

injured. Many of the soldiers 

who died were young – as 

young as fifteen. So that 

Christmas one hundred years 

ago would have been a sad 

one for many people, with 

empty spaces by the fireside. 

For most people back then, 

Christmas was a time to go 

to church. The whole family 

would wrap up warmly and 

head for church on Christmas 

morning. Churches were not 

warmly heated, so that woolly 

hat and gloves set that your 

granny knitted for you was 

actually welcome! Although 

times were harder then, people 

did practice an “attitude 

of gratitude,” especially at 

Christmas. 

These days many people still 

go to church at Christmas 

time - maybe for just that one 

time in the year. And churches 

always welcome those 

folks, and hope that they will 

come back more often!

It’s only in fairly recent years that most 

people have had the money to spend on 

having an over the top good time at Christmas. 

Typical presents up until the 1960s for 

teenagers might have been a book, a new 

pair of gloves, a tin of talcum powder or a 

box of handkerchiefs. Nothing to make the 

heart beat faster maybe, but the pleasure of 

ripping open that wrapping paper to reveal 

a pair of strange coloured socks from your 

Auntie Winnie never really failed. 

Instead of everybody spending time alone 

with their electronic devices as they do 

now, families would gather together for 

a meal, tell silly jokes, eat too much and 

maybe watch a film or a favourite show 

together on TV. In many countries, a family 

walk before a huge Christmas lunch was 

the highlight of the day, with dogs, children, 

teens, eccentric uncles, old grannies and all. 

These days, we are used to spending a lot of 

money at Christmas time, and many people 

have high expectations in the way of gifts. 

However, lots of teenagers are beginning 

to see through the commercialization and 

the false glitter, and believe that the real joy 

of Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ, 

bringing love to the world. They would 

rather have simple homemade gifts and 

spend any extra money on helping other 

people who haven’t had such good chances 

as they have. They are also very conscious 

of the environment and believe that natural 

decorations are better than lots of flashy 

plastic. 

When it comes to Christmas, we are 

all kids at heart, and teenagers love to 

join in with childlike traditions. Here 

are just some from around the world. 

• In France, children put a pair of highly polished 

shoes by the fire heart, in the hopes that Pere 

Noel will fill them up with goodies. (Amazingly, 

he always does!) 

• In England, families like to decorate their homes 

and gardens for passers-by to see and put out a 

collecting box for donations to a local charity. 

• In sunny South Africa, young people often enjoy 

a delicious meat-laden barbecue or “brai” on 

the beach. 

• In Singapore, each home will display an intricately 

made paper and bamboo lantern, which 

represents the star that the shepherds saw 

when Jesus was born. 

• In Belize, young people go from house to house 

dressed in strange Junkanoo costume and perform 

a traditional dance. The Christmas party 

is called a Bram and always features rice and 

beans. 

Everywhere around the world, teenagers love 

the excitement of putting up those Christmas 

decorations. Lights, colour and greenery feature 

in all Christmas decorations, symbolizing the 

birth of joy, the light of the world, and new 

hope.

I am a high school student currently 

living in Sherwood Park. 

Although I was born here in Alberta, 

I grew up and spent most of 

my time living down in the states. 

My family decided to move back 

to Sherwood Park a few years ago, 

and I couldn’t be more grateful 

for how my life has changed since 

then. I started into modelling 

around the age of 14 and have 

had the opportunity to be apart 

of many projects and shows here 

around Edmonton. With every 

new project, I’ve gained not only 

confidence but a great appreciation 

of the unique experiences I’ve 

been able to encounter. Now being 

17 years old, I’m getting ready to 

graduate in the spring and start the 

next chapter of my life. 

I met my boyfriend, Steven, at our 

high school over a year ago. He’s 

never been a part of a photoshoot 

before, and although he was nervous 

at first, he got comfortable 

quick and did an amazing job! He 

and I had so much fun shooting 

together, and it was an experience 

for both of us we’ll never forget. 

I feel fortunate to have had the 

opportunity to express my passion 

for modelling and have him be a 

part of that.

I live in Haverhill MA. and grew up with a loving 

mother and father along with a sister. 

At the age of two I started my journey as a 

dancer. Since then I have gone to multiple 

dance national competitions and even the 

World tap championships in Germany. With 

these different 

opportunities I have been able to meet so 

many friends from around the world. I was 

also introduced to cheerleading at the age 

of ten. It was around my sophomore year of 

high school when I made the choice to start 

up modeling. 

I soon realized I had a love for being in front 

of a camera. A couple people I would really 

love to mention that have helped me along 

this journey of growing as a model would be 

David West from Born Imagery Photography, 

Jonathan Route from J. Route Photography, 

Hill Zhou Photography, Michael Rose Photography, 

and Gerardo Torres Photography. 

These photographers have helped me so 

much and given me chances that will allow 

me to reach for the stars. I will be walking the 

runway at London Fashion Week in 2020 

for Shaco Couture. 

I also want to thank my parents so much for 

driving me to all auditions, fashion shows, 

and photo shoots.

Sydney Guith is a 16 year-old model living in 

beautiful Southern California. 

I am just starting my modelling career and 

am so excited about the connections I have 

made thus far, including a relationship with 

Teen Look Magazine! There are so many incredibly 

talented and amazing photographers 

in SoCal. I am having the time of my life 

meeting new people and adventuring to new 

places. I can’t wait to see where modelling 

will take me. 

I am a junior in high school and am making 

BIG plans to attend a four-year university, 

where I hope to study American Sign Language 

and Psychology. I recently got my 

driver’s license and enjoy the independence 

brought with that, but I must admit I am a 

happy homebody! I am a self-proclaimed 

“nerd” and love all things academic and am an 

avid reader and spend MUCH of my free time 

writing. I love pyjamas, chocolate milk, and 

all things Harry Potter.

I have been dancing for the last 11 years. In 

my spare time, I enjoy going for vocal training, 

participating in acting projects, and 

volunteering with my Church and the other 

charitable organizations in the area. I am 

beginning to explore opportunities in Model. 

Fun fact about me is that my father grew up 

rodeoing in small-town Alberta, and my mom 

is from Sri Lanka. Being a mix of Bollywood 

and Hollywood is something I hope to accomplish 

one day.

Formally known as The Runaway Hamsters, TRHibe is 

a teen country group consisting of older sister Isabella 

and her triplet siblings Abby, Gabby and brother Riley. 

This vibrant group started in early grade school and gained 

notoriety when they used both their musical and songwriting 

abilities to record and sell CD’s that helped raise money 

for a second-grade friend with cancer. Since then, they 

have continued to use their talent, big hearts and music to 

help others. The Boise, Idaho natives have performed from 

Nashville to LA, opened for Andy Grammer, took part 

in The National Finals Rodeo Cowboy Christmas in Las 

Vegas, appeared on numerous TV networks, performed 

on WSM-AM (home of the Grand Ole Opry), played the 

famous Bluebird Café and have participated in CMA Music 

Festival for the past few years where they performed and 

signed autographs for fans. 

The lyric video for their latest single “Water” exclusively 

premiered on the high-end western attire website of Double 

D Ranch. This song is off their EP Brothers and Sisters, 

which was produced by TRHibe and their long-time Grammy-nominated 

producer Kent Wells (the same producer 

that works with Dolly Parton). The music video for their 

previous single “GO!” also received video placement in the 

high-profile PARADE magazine and was also aired on Music 

Choice and in 200+ Rooms To Go stores across the U.S. 

This past summer, while TRHibe was in town for the CMA 

Music Festival, they visited the Country Music Association 

(CMA) office on Music Row and was recognized as one of 

the newest members. They are now following in the footsteps 

of country music icons. “We are so thankful to be a 

member of CMA,” said lead vocalist Isabella Keen. TRHibe 

member Gabby Keen chimed in and said, “We love everything 

about country music and are honoured to be a part 

of this community alongside so many other talented and 

legendary artists.”

With 2019 coming to a close, 

things are only just getting 

started for this youthful 

sibling group. They recently 

performed in NYC on 

December 5, 2019, at the 

New York Stock Exchange 

96th Annual Tree Lighting 

event. Hosted by the New 

York Stock Exchange, the 

event featured holiday cheer 

by artists including TRHibe, 

Rhonda Vincent, School of 

Rock, Phantom of the Opera, 

and others and a special 

performance by five-time 

Grammy-award winning 

singer Dionne Warwick. 

There were also appearances 

by the Radio City Rockettes, 

Macy’s Santa, the Budweiser 

Clydesdales, Coca-Cola 

Polar Bear and the Harlem 

Globetrotters, to name a few. 

TRHibe is also in the studio 

recording new material 

that will be released in 2020.

Zorana is 14 years old from the Gold Coast in 

Queensland, Australia. 

Her parents are born from Swiss/Czech heritage, 

and Zorana is bilingual in English and 

Swiss-German. 

She has always had a deep love for entertaining 

since she was a young child, which lead 

her to pursue her dreams in all facets of the 

industry. 

Zorana trains at an Elite level in Silks, Lyra, 

Trapeze and Hand-Balance at Aerial Angles 

Academy, a renowned circus school on the 

Gold Coast. 

She also takes singing and dancing lessons 

and loves riding horses. Living on the Gold 

Coast, she loves the beach and enjoying 

the stunning coastline, soft sand and ocean 

waters. 

As a performer, Zorana loves the camera and 

found a passion in working with different 

photographers and stylists to create an array 

of photos that display her versatility and love

My name is Sheila Co, and I’m a 17 year-old 

model from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. 

I am in my first year of Engineering at the University 

of Alberta. Typically you would not see 

an Engineering student pursue modelling at 

the same time, but that’s a key factor of what 

I think makes me unique as a model. I’ve been 

modelling for a couple of months now, and 

I believe that it has given me a confidence 

booster to love myself more as an individual. 

Modelling has given me many opportunities 

like my recent experience with walking 

at Western Canada Fashion week as well as 

meeting many new faces within the photography 

and modelling industry in my city.

Jillian is an actress/model who has been in a 

few films as well as a SAG commercial. 

Her hobbies include cheer, dancing, acting,

art. She has modelled for several boutiques 

and is a model for the SugarLulu company. 

Her main passion is acting, but she loves 

being in front of the camera any opportunity

Rebecca Maron 

Seventeen year-old Rebecca Maron is from 

Consort, Alberta, and has just recently begun 

her modelling career. 

Already, she has collaborated with several 

photographers to build her portfolio and is 

planning to register for a Walk the Talk runway 

course to further improve her skills. Rebecca 

brings a positive, professional, and friendly 

personality to sets. She has been dancing 

competitively since she was seven years old, 

and her training in this area accentuates her 

posing and confidence, which results in shots 

that are both elegant and artistic. 

One of her recent shoots with photographer 

Devon Reed is set to be published in the 

December issue of Picton Magazine. Rebecca 

looks forward to building connections with 

Teen Look as well as with new local and international 

companies.

AJ Popoff is a young actor from 

Chestermere AB. He attends Chestermere

AJ’s film debut was the summer of 

2019 when he landed the lead hero 

role in the feature-length Horror film 

“Observer” directed by Stephen 

Sander. AJ also enjoys playing baseball 

and volleyball and is very well 

skilled in basketball, which is his most

Alexandria Rogue Wilson is 17 years young 

and a junior in High school in Massachusetts. 

I am that girl that walks into a room smiley, 

happy with a positive kind of vibe. People at 

school describe me as a sunshiny person. 

Every day for school, I love dressing up in 

different styles; my love for fashion is big. I 

walk down the hallway of my school, almost 

like a runway, I love getting the rush of excitement. 

That’s how I feel about modelling. 

The idea of becoming a successful model, 

leading into other careers such as acting, or a 

fashion designer all fill my mind and make my 

stomach float with butterflies. Things I love 

doing include dancing, playing basketball 

and writing. I’ve always wanted to do modern 

dancing. 

My music style is eclectic; I love all different 

types of music. 

Friends and family always catch me dancing 

because I just have this urge to dance every 

time I hear a good beat! For college, I want 

to study to be a forensic psychologist while 

continuing to do modelling. I love eating and 

am always willing to try new foods. Trying 

new things and going places is wonderful to 

me. I love going out and seeing the world, and 

someday I want to be able to travel around 

the world. 

I want to make my family proud of me. I have 

two of the funniest little brothers and two 

wonderful parents who have helped me 

become the person I am today. I want them 

to look at me and know I am a success and 

that I did it on my own. That’s the moment I 

want to achieve someday, not only to make 

myself happy but my family too. If you can 

see yourself there, you can do it. And I believe 

in myself!

“It’s been an exciting adventure, 

to where I am today, 

in my journey to becoming 

an internationally published 

photographer, stylist and 

makeup artist, and I’m still 

learning and developing my 

style. 

I’ve always loved fashion, 

thrift shopping, doing my 

own makeup and hair as well 

as friends and family, for 

events, formals, and weddings. 

As I got older, I experimented 

more with makeup 

and fashion and became 

more adventurous with my 

own style. I love how it can 

give me a way to express my 

creativity and be the canvas 

to my own living art. 

I have been in the fashion 

industry, since my late teens 

in Adelaide, South Australia. 

I worked in retail, window 

dressing, as a buyer & fashion 

merchandiser. I was also 

painting and exhibiting my 

work in small galleries in Adelaide, 

having my paintings 

displayed in a restaurant that 

featured in the Jan/Feb 2002 

first edition of the popular 

Australian food magazine 

“Delicious.” A friend and I also 

started our own fashion label 

in the early 2000s, that combined 

my art, and was sold in 

12 stores nationally. 

My love of fashion and expression 

through style has 

led to my business, MaLeLe 

Style. My photography package 

includes styling, hair and 

makeup. I have an extensive 

wardrobe collection from the 

‘90s and 2000s as well as 

vintage pieces. I love the concept 

of circular fashion and 

breathing life back into vintage 

pieces with the younger 

generation. 

Collaborating with others, 

who have the same style and 

vision, has added a special 

touch. The handmade, 

eco-friendly jewellery, from 

Wonderland Creative by Lisa, 

is featured quite often in my 

pictures since we have found 

we work so well together. 

Helping each other in the 

industry can lead to fantastic 

opportunities. Lisa has been 

selected to be part of the 

RAW Australia Showcase, in 

Brisbane, in February 2020. 

It’s an event that displays 

local talent and provides 

a platform for creatives to 

meet each other and also 

to present their work to the 

public in a very dynamic and 

fun atmosphere. I’m very excited 

to attend with Lisa, with 

photos of our collaborations 

on display, to showcase both 

our talents.

I’ve been blessed to work 

with models who are open to 

my creative style and trust 

I will produce an image that 

makes them happy and celebrates 

who they are. My love 

of the ‘90s Supermodels was 

that they represented individuality 

and diversity. These 

models were chosen for their 

unique facial features and 

body shapes. I tell teenagers 

that it is their uniqueness 

that sets them apart from 

the crowd. I encourage them 

to embrace their features, to 

carry a positive and empowered 

attitude, into their 

future modelling work. 

I am very hands-on, giving 

direction to my models, on 

where to place limbs, eyes, 

chin angles and poses in 

general, to assist the model, 

to know how to move in 

front of the camera, to create 

shapes, lines, and aesthetics 

that create flattering images.

Zlata studies at the art school in the 

Department of "Sculpture" in Minsk - 

the main city of Belarus with dreams of 

becoming a famous model and sculptor. 

Since childhood, she has loved drawing 

and sculpturing, loves doing animation 

using the application gacha life. She 

wants to live in Italy and to enter the Milan 

Academy of arts. 

In the future, she wants to live by the sea 

with a large zoo. Zlata likes all animals, 

especially cats. Travelling is another 

dream of Zlata's as she really likes the ancient 

sights, especially the architecture. 

The most favourite holidays - New Year 

and Birthdays. The most beautiful holiday 

in our country is Christmas and New 

Year. She really loves these holidays! 

And like a usual girl loves to get Christmas 

presents! Our city is very beautiful, 

dressed up on New Year's Eve. Whole 

families go skating, walking the streets 

and shopping.

Corey Hegel 

Corey Aries Hegel is a model, actress, 

dancer and activist. She was born in 

California in 2002. 

As a student of Orange County School 

of the Arts, Corey won several Ballroom 

Championships. 

In 2018, Corey was named the 2019 Miss 

Orange County Youth America. Corey 

made the cover of ELEGANT Magazine 

and was featured in its February 2019 

and July 2019 issues. 

It was at O.C. Fashion Week in March 

2019 that Corey met Egypt (Ify) Ufele, 

a New York fashion designer and child 

prodigy. Corey walked the runway in one 

of Egypt’s creations. Egypt was bullied 

as a child for being chubby. Medication 

for asthma led to Egypt’s weight gain. 

Like, Egypt, Corey also grew up with 

asthma. Corey was inspired by Egypt, 

who founded an anti-bullying organization 

called BullyChasers. Egypt was 

appointed Junior Ambassador of Peace 

by the United Nations. Corey was selected 

to be Egypt’s Brand Ambassador for 

BullyChasers. 

As an ocean activist, she partnered 

with Australian underwater photographer 

Brett Stanley to create an image 

of a mermaid trapped in a water bottle. 

Brett’s image won Honorable Mention 

with IPA, a major international photography 

contest. 

Corey travelled to Switzerland this past 

July to attend The Juilliard School’s 

pre-college program, majoring in Drama. 

She is studying hard and in the process 

of completing college applications.

has always been the one thing that has 

allowed me the most room to express 

myself. When I entered into modelling, I 

had no idea how much I would love it, and 

this industry very quickly became another 

way of expression. The people I have 

met, the people I have worked with, the 

connections I have made through both 

have all been so meaningful. I am fortunate 

in that I have so many role models, 

inspiring and pushing me every day to be 

the best version of me. My hope for the 

future is that I am able to inspire others in 

the same way.

Andrea is a talented, driven and hardworking 

ten year-old performer with high 

ambitions in the entertainment industry. 

She fell in love with dance from her very 

first ballet class at just under three years 

of age and has been actively pursuing 

her passion ever since. After getting her 

feet wet in recreational ballet and jazz at 

Sommerville Dance Academy, Andrea 

joined the Mini Competitive Team at 

Vlad’s Dance Company in Richmond 

Hill, Ontario, performing her first jazz solo 

“Broadway Banana” at the age of 7. In 

2017, Andrea joined the company team 

at Canadian Dance Unit in Bolton, ON, 

where she continues training to date in a 

variety of disciplines including ballet, jazz, 

tap, hip-hop, acro, lyrical and contemporary. 

Her dedication and perseverance 

lead her to the World Stage in November-December 

2018.

Bianca is a hard-working and talented 

nine year-old performer. She discovered 

her love for dance at a very young age, in 

her very first ballet and jazz class, at the 

age of 2.5 years old at Canadian Dance 

Unit in Bolton, Ontario, formally known 

as Joanne Chapman School of Dance. 

Bianca knew from the start that dance 

was her passion and has been training 

actively ever since in a variety of dance 

genres, including jazz, tap, ballet, acro, 

hip-hop, lyrical and contemporary. She 

was one of the youngest dancers to join 

the Mini Competitive Team at Canadian 

Dance Unit at only five years of age. Her 

love for dance deepened when she performed 

her very first jazz solo on stage 

at the age of 6. Her stage presence only 

grew from there, shaping her into the little 

“firecracker” that she is today and taking 

her to the World Stage in November-December 

2018.

When Andrea joined Canadian 

Dance Unit in 2017, Bianca was 

one of the first girls eager to 

welcome Andrea to their team. 

Close in age with similar outgoing 

personalities; the girls befriended 

almost instantly. Their friendship 

grew deeper during their training 

for the World Dance Championship 

as part of Team Canada 

Dance 2018. Both Andrea and 

Bianca were selected through an 

audition process to represent our 

nation on the World Stage in Warsaw, 

Poland, where they contributed 

to the team’s 2 Gold, 1 Silver 

and 1 Bronze medals. Training 

full days and weekends at a time, 

learning new moves and mastering 

new choreography was not 

an easy task, but together they 

pulled through, supporting and 

motivating each other through 

physical and emotional challenges 

that came with this experience. 

Being travel buddies fortified their 

bond and turned their friendship 

into even more of a partnership. 

Outside the studio, Bianca and 

Andrea like to attend various 

dance workshops and intensives 

together, not to mention play 

dates and sleepovers are a must 

for this hardworking duo. Lately, 

the girls also enjoy doing dance 

photo sessions together.
