Installing Windows 2000 Advanced Server (ES5044R, ES5085R, and ES2024R) e. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it, then click Properties. Configure the FDDI network adapter card as follows: 1) Click “Use the following IP address.” Note: You must know if this Windows 2000 or NT server node is being installed as the first, second, third, or fourth Windows node in the ClearPath IX system to which it is connected. You will use the IP address associated with that node number. The following default components are checked: • Client for Microsoft Networks • File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks • Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Continue by configuring the Netfinity card: j. Select File and Print Sharing and click Properties. A Server Optimization box appears. k. Select Balance, then click OK. l. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it, then click Properties. m. Click “Use the following IP address.” n. In the IP Address field, enter the IP address for the Windows 2000 Advanced node from Table 2–2, then press Tab. o. Change the subnet mask to the netmask address from Table 2–2, or skip this field (accept the default). p. If you have a gateway (router), tab to the Default Gateway field and type the gateway address from Table 2–2. q. Click Advanced and add any additional gateway entries that the site requires. r. If the site chooses to implement WINS, click the WINS tab (otherwise skip this step), then enter WINS information as follows: 1) Click Add and type the address from Table 2–2. Click Add again. 2) Enter any additional IP addresses from Table 2–2. s. Click the DNS tab. t. If the site has any DNS servers, click Add (otherwise skip this step). In the window that appears, enter the IP address for the first DNS server from Table 2–2; then click Add again. u. If applicable, click Add and enter any additional DNS servers. v. Click to uncheck “Register the connections added in DNS.” w. Leave the default selections for the DNS suffix as they are. (“Append primary…and append parent….”) x. Click OK. y. Click OK. z. Click Next. 13. A Workgroup or Computer Domain screen identifies the host name of the Windows 2000 node and asks whether the node is to participate in a workgroup or domain. Proceed as follows: a.
