Installing Windows 2000 Advanced Server (ES5044R, ES5085R, and ES2024R)
A Regional Settings screen appears, with a Customize button for making changes to
system locale or keyboard layout controls.
2. Click Next to defer making changes until later.
A screen labeled Personalize Your Software appears.
3. Enter the name and organization responsible for the node as follows:
a. Name field—Enter the name of the person responsible for the node.
b. Press the tab key to advance to the organization field.
c. Organization field—Enter the organization responsible for the Windows 2000
Advanced node.
d. Click Next to proceed to the next screen.
A screen labeled Your Product Key appears asking for the registration number
from the Certificate of Authentication.
4. Enter the registration number as recorded in Table 2–2, or directly from the Certificate
of Authentication, as follows:
a. Type the required digits in each field.
b. Click Next to proceed.
A Licensing Modes screen appears.
5. Click the “Per seat” licensing option, then click Next to proceed.
The Computer Name and Administrator Password screen appears.
Note: The computer name (up to 15 characters) is the Network Basic
Input/Output System (NETBIOS) name that uniquely identifies the
computer in the Windows 2000 Advanced workgroup or domain. It must be
different from the workgroup or domain name.
6. In the name field, enter the host name from Table 2–2 by which the Windows 2000
node will be identified on the external TCP/IP network. Tab to the administrator
password.
a. In the password field, type administrator.
b. Tab to Confirm Password. Type administrator in that field.
c. Click Next to proceed.
Note: Following installation, the site must change the default password
(administrator) to a different password.
The Windows 2000 Components screen may appear, with the following items checked
as defaults:
• Accessories and Utilities
• Indexing Service
• Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Script Debugger
Otherwise, the Date and Time Settings screen appears.
