Installing Windows 2000 Advanced Server (ES5044R, ES5085R, and ES2024R) . . 1 Logical Drives found on the Host Adapter 1 Logical Drives handled by BIOS > 2. Immediately press Alt-M to start BIOS Options Utility. A BIOS options menu appears: ----BIOS Options----- BIOS enabled CD-ROM boot enabled 8GB drive geometry Note: If BIOS options are not set as above, continue with steps 3 through 7 as needed; otherwise, go to step 8. 3. Select the BIOS option using the arrow keys. Press Enter to change the option to Enabled. 4. Select the CD-ROM option using the arrow keys. Press Enter to change the option to Boot Enabled. 5. Select the drive geometry option using the arrow keys. Press Enter to change the option to 8GB. A warning message appears: Changing drive geometry may lead to non-bootable system drives and/or loss of data! Proceed anyway? (Y/N) 6. Type Y (yes) and press Enter. The drive geometry is now 8GB. 7. Press Esc twice to quit BIOS Option Utility. A message appears: The system will restart. Press any key to continue. 8. Press Enter and let the system reboot. 9. Immediately press Alt-R to start the Mylex RAID EzAssist utility. An EzAssist Menu for configuring RAID logical arrays appears as follows: ----EzAssist Menu---- Configure RAID Drive View or Modify Controller Configuration Perform Administration on... Rescan for New Devices Advanced Options 10. Select the option Configure RAID Drive using the arrow keys, then press Enter. Select Automatic, then press Enter. The RAID Configuration Summary window appears: RAID Configuration Summary Logical Drive 0 Fault Tolerance: Yes Spare: No Optimization: Performance Logical Drive Count: 1 Total Capacity: 17.0 GB Chan: 10 Vendor Model Version Capacity (GB) Status 1:00 UNISYS ....... 17.0 Online 1:01 UNISYS ....... 17.0 Online Make sure Apply is highlighted, then press Enter. A message window appears: Writing RAID Configuration Please wait... A final window appears: Congratulations! Configuration Status Logical Drive 0 RAID configuration is successful. You may utilize this drive immediately. [Reboot] Main Menu 12. Insert the Windows 2000 Advanced Bootable CD-ROM in the drive. 13. Highlight Reboot, then press Enter.
