Installing Windows 2000 Advanced Server (ES5044R, ES5085R, and ES2024R)
3) If you have a gateway (router), tab to the Default Gateway field and type the
gateway address from Table 2–2. This completes the entering of IP address
information.
4) Click Advanced and add any additional gateway entries that the site requires.
5) If the site chooses to implement WINS, click the WINS tab (otherwise skip this
step), then do the following to enter WINS information:
a) Click Add and type the address from Table 2–2. Click Add again.
b) Enter any additional IP addresses from Table 2–2.
6) Click the DNS tab.
7) If the site has any DNS servers, click Add (otherwise skip this step). In the
window that appears, enter the IP address for the first DNS server from Table
2–2; then click Add again.
8) If applicable, click Add and enter any additional DNS servers.
9) Click to uncheck “Register the connections added in DNS.”
10) Leave the default selections for the DNS suffix as they are. (“Append
primary…and append parent….”)
11) Click OK.
12) Click OK.
13) Click Next.
A screen appears with the next configurable device: the SysKonnect FDDI PCI
Adapter SK-5544 [SK-NET…].
b. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it, then click Properties. Configure
the FDDI network adapter card as follows:
1) Click the option “Use the following IP address.”
Note: You must know if this Windows 2000 or NT server node is being
installed as the first, second, third, or fourth Windows node in the
ClearPath IX system to which it is connected. You will use the IP
address associated with that node number. The addresses are listed
in Table B-1.
2) In the IP Address field, type the appropriate FDDI address for this node (for
example, 192.168.057.003 for the first Intel node) as described in Appendix B,
Table B–1. Then press Tab.
3) In the Subnet Mask field, enter the address 255.255.255.0.
4) Click the Advanced button.
5) Click the Add button in the IP Addresses box.
6) Enter the other two addresses and subnet masks from Table B–1. Then click
OK.
7) Click OK.
8) Click Next.
