Installing Windows 2000 Advanced Server (ES5044R, ES5085R, and ES2024R)
ES5085R server:
A screen appears with a set of networking components for the first network device
detected, the Intel[R] PRO/100+ Dual Port Server Adapter #2. These default
components are checked:
• Client for Microsoft Networks
• File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks
• Network Monitor Driver
• Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
You may change these selections as desired. Click components to check or uncheck
them. By default, this adapter is not used by ClearPath.
Next, proceed as follows:
a. Click Next.
A screen appears with the next configurable device: the Intel[R] PRO/100+ Dual
Port Server Adapter. The same default components are checked again (see
bulleted list above).
b. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it, then click Properties. Configure
the Fast Ethernet network adapter card as follows:
1) Click “Use the following IP address.” In the IP Address field enter the IP
address for the Windows 2000 Advanced node from Table 2–2, then press Tab.
2) Change the subnet mask to the netmask address from Table 2–2, or skip this
field (accept the default).
3) If you have a gateway (router), tab to the Default Gateway field and type the
gateway address from Table 2–2. This completes the entering of IP address
information.
4) Click Advanced and add any additional gateway entries that the site requires.
5) If the site chooses to implement WINS, click the WINS tab (otherwise skip this
step), then do the following to enter WINS information:
a) Click Add and type address from Table 2–2. Click Add again.
b) Enter any additional IP addresses from Table 2–2.
6) Click the DNS tab.
7) If the site has any DNS servers, click Add (otherwise skip this step). In the
window that appears, enter the IP address for the first DNS server from Table
2–2; then click Add again.
8) If applicable, click Add and enter any additional DNS servers.
9) Click “Register this connection’s addresses in DNS” to clear it.
10) Leave the default selections for the DNS suffix as they are. (“Append
primary…and append parent….”)
11) Click OK.
12) Click OK.
