Introduction and Installation Overview 5. Install and configure SPO/HMP Console and related software as described in Section 10. 6. Install SPO workstation software and enable communication between the SPO workstation and each Intel node as described in Section 11. 7. Configure monitored nodes as described in Section 12. 8. Install the basic OS 2200 IOE on each OS 2200 node as described in Section 13. 9. Before testing the private LAN interconnect as described in the next step, configure CMS 1100 with required IP addresses (16.2.1). 10. Verify that the OS 2200 node or nodes can communicate with the Intel node or nodes by performing interconnect tests as described in Section 14. Section 2 Installation Checklists and Tips This section provides the following: • Preinstallation checklist (2.1) • Installation checklist (2.2) • Set of installation tips (2.3) • Description of additional site requirements (2.4) • Procedure for configuring and using the monitor concentrator (2.5) 2.1. Preinstallation Checklist Before beginning installation on any node, ensure that the site • Is ready for the installation and that all installation information has been obtained per the relevant Technical Information Bulletin (TIB). • Has a correct operations database (ODB) based on customer-specific configuration information. • Has planned for migration from an existing 1100 or 2200 Series system using the procedures in the ClearPath HMP IX and 2200 Systems Software Planning and Migration Overview. • Has planned for additional requirements as described later in this section (2.4), including − Obtaining workstation hardware required to support certain Unisys products (2.4.1). − Planning for a network if the site does not currently have one (2.4.2). − Planning to integrate with an existing SPO server (optional), if the site already has one (2.4.3). You should also obtain the ClearPath HMP IX installation checklist. You can print this checklist or view it directly from the Planning and Installation Information Web page on Engineering PRIMUS Application System (EPAS) or from the Service and Support Web site.
