C.1. How to Obtain a Permanent Key
The key listed below will temporarily enable the SPO/HMP IX Interface feature of Single
Point Operations Console necessary to manage your ClearPath IX server. It will expire on
11/30/00.

In order for Unisys to provide accurate license key services in the future, you must request
a permanent key as soon as you begin the integration of your ClearPath IX server into the
Single Point Operations Console environment.
Take the following steps to obtain a permanent key:
1. Complete the permanent key request form in C.3. The form is used to identify your
ClearPath IX server order numbers plus the Single Point Operations server-id values
used for permanent keying.
2. Send the form to Plymouth Operations Software Manufacturing (POSM).
3. Upon receipt of the key request, POSM generates a permanent key and returns it to
you on standard permanent key shipment forms (43059784 and 43059785).
4. Upon receiving the permanent key, install the new keys on the designated server or
servers.
Permanent keys for the SPO/HMP IX Interface reflect the total number of ClearPath IX
servers that you have registered to be managed by Single Point Operations Console.
Normally, this is one per ClearPath IX server purchased. The resultant key includes the
accumulated total as the license count value.
C.2. Upgrades to Single Point Operations Console
To upgrade from standard Basic Edition software to Single Point Operations Console, you
must purchase package style SMS 6000-CPS. That package consists of two components:
Single Point Operations Console and Single Point Status. In this case, the registration of
license keys begins with receipt of the software order in Plymouth Operations Software
Manufacturing (POSM). Initial delivery of temporary keys and subsequent delivery and
registration of permanent keys are performed through the normal SPO key registration
process which is documented in the Single Point Operations Administration and
Configuration Guide.
In order to manage the ClearPath IX servers from Single Point Operations Console,
however, you must install the temporary key provided in C.1 and follow the instructions
there for requesting a permanent key. If you have more than one ClearPath IX server, the
order number for each must be indicated on the request. If you have more than one Single
Point Operations server, the server-id for each must be indicated on the request.
C.3. Permanent Key Request Form
To obtain a permanent key, submit the following form using the instructions in C.1.
