SPO/HMP IX Interface License Key
Registration
This appendix is for sites using Single Point Operations Console (formerly known as
SPO/ESE Console).
The ClearPath HMP IX server includes Single Point Operations Basic Edition for ClearPath
IX software (component style name SMS 154-CPS). Your ClearPath IX server software
license entitles you to use Basic Edition to operate a stand-alone ClearPath IX server or
alternatively to manage one ClearPath IX server from one or more Single Point Operations
servers (formerly known as SPO/ESE servers).
License keys are not used within a stand-alone Basic Edition server. However, the feature
that allows Single Point Operations Console to control a ClearPath IX server is enabled by
a license key. That feature is known as the SPO/HMP IX Interface.
When the license key is installed on the Single Point Operations server, an increment in
Single Point Operations Console functionality is provided as follows:
• The ANSI X3.64 connectivity attributes are enabled for monitoring the Single Point
Operations server.
• If Windows NT is installed on an Intel node
− The Windows NT connectivity attributes are enabled for monitoring the
Windows NT node.
− The 2200Mon Status classification is enabled for running the HMP preconfigured
Status display.
• If UnixWare is installed on an Intel node
− The ANSI X3.64 connectivity attributes are enabled for monitoring the UnixWare
node.
− The Unix2200Mon Status classification is enabled for running the HMP
preconfigured Status display.
Each ClearPath IX server delivery includes a temporary key that enables you to
immediately configure and manage the ClearPath IX server from a Single Point Operations
server. You should obtain a permanent key as soon as possible (see C.1).
