15.2.3. Setting Up Application Group 3
To set up application group 3 so that the UDS tape can be installed, take the following
steps:
1. Application group 3 must be up to start this procedure. Take these steps to check its
state:
a. Check the facility status of the application by entering this command:
AP 3 FS
The following message should be returned to indicate that IRU short recovery is
pending (“PND”) and is in the “INIT” recovery state:
APP 3 RCV 0% IRU:PND REC: INIT
b. If a message indicates that application group 3 is not in the correct recovery state,
enter the following commands:
AP 3 DN
AP 3 UP INIT
2. Enter the following command to start the runstream to set up application group 3:
ST AP3SETUP
This runstream does the following to perform an IRU short recovery of application
group 3 (required to set up the application group):
• Creates rollback page file to TIP file 301
• Adds the MCBSETUP3 runstream
• Sets up the IRU history file for application group 3
• Adds the IRU3 runstream to short recover application group 3
Messages appear and you are prompted to open an audit trail.
Note: The common bank error messages appear as a result of UDS products not
yet being installed when IRU short recovers application group 3 during the
initial set up. Application group 3 must be up and short-recovered when
UDS is initially installed (15.2.4).
