Section 14 Verifying the Interconnects and Achieving Hardware RFU Following installation of OS 2200 software from fast-load tape HMP-OE1, you must verify that the OS 2200 nodes and each Intel node can communicate via the internal interconnect (14.1). Table 14–1 lists procedures that require you to have information or installation media available at the time of installation. Obtain that information or media before beginning. With this checklist completed and all installation software media readily available, the procedures in this section take 3 hours. Table 14–1. Checklist for Verifying Interconnects and Achieving RFU √ Media or Information Required 14.1. Verifying Interconnect Communications Media needed: Applicable tape containing microcode and the PING test for verifying communications as follows: • Model IX4400 CEC500 tape (minimum level of 1R8 is required, except when the 2200 node is configured for resilient partitions, then a minimum level of 1R11 is required to execute the PING test for the second 2200 node) Host LAN Controller-2 (HLC-2) microcode on cartridge tape. Found in the HLC2-FMK package that comes with the HLC-2. • Model IX5000 Series or IX4800 server CC6000 tape or CC3000 tape. CC6000 supersedes CC3000 for all configurations at Plateau 2.0. At Plateau 2.0 a minimum CC6000 level of 2R1 is required. Below Plateau 2.0, a minimum CC3000 level of 1R1 is required, except when the 2200 node is configured for resilient partitions, then a minimum level of 1R2 is required to execute the PING test for the second 2200 node. Channel adapter microcode tape, called FDDI/ETHERNET CA-MCODE The Diagnostic Software Peripheral Equipment Routines (DSPER) also should be installed following installation of the CEC tape. continued 7850 5104–009 Version 009B (Web Only) 14–1
