Continue by installing the SPO display software, as described next. 11.13. Installing SPO Display Software on the Windows 2000 Workstation SPO display software includes SCO XVision, ControlIT (a product of Computer Associates), and Winsock RSHD/NT. This section gives the following procedures for installing these products, in the order shown: 1. Install and configure XVision. 2. Install ControlIT. 3. Install Winsock RSHD/NT. The installation procedures are described next. 11.13.1. Installing and Configuring XVision on the Windows 2000 Workstation XVision is an X terminal emulator that runs on the SPO workstation. XVision allows the SPO workstation to display SPO Basic Edition screens for monitoring and controlling ClearPath IX server components. Install and configure XVision on the SPO workstation as follows: 1. If you are not currently logged on, power on or restart the SPO workstation and log on (11.14.1). 2. Insert the CD-ROM labeled “SCO Vision 2K” into the drive unit. A SCO Vision 2K screen appears. 3. Click Install. The SCO Vision 2K Setup Wizard appears. 4. Click OK. A product-selection menu appears. 5. Select SCO XVision Eclipse 7.3. 6. Click Next. A setup options menu appears. 11–30 Version 009B (Web Only) 7850 5104–009

A prompt also appears asking whether you wish to evaluate the above products. Clear the checkmark for the prompt about evaluating products. 8. In the box for the license number, type the license number from Table 11–1 or from the SCO Vision Family Certificate of License, then click Next. A registration window appears. 9. Click No, then Next. A summary window appears. 10. Click OK. Software is now loaded (about 2 minutes), and a Results window appears confirming the loading of SCO XVision Eclipse 7.3. 11. Click OK. A window appears asking you to restart the computer. 12. Click Yes. The workstation reboots and the logon prompt appears. 13. Log on to the workstation again (11.14.1). A few screens appear briefly; then an XVision Optimizer window appears. 14. Click Yes. XVision server optimization occurs. Wait for completion (about 4 minutes). 15. Click Close. 16. Remove the CD ROM from the drive. Complete XVision installation as described in the following subsections by • Copying the SPO Basic Edition fonts • Installing the SPO Basic Edition fonts • Configuring XVision Copying SPO Basic Edition Fonts SPO Basic Edition uses fonts that are not supplied by either Windows 2000 or XVision. In addition, SPO Basic Edition uses aliases for some of the fonts supplied by XVision. The fonts and aliases are supplied on the SPO Basic Edition release media and reside on the SPO server. Standard X fonts (100dpi, 75dpi, misc, and so on) are supplied in .FON format, which is the format supported by Windows 2000.
