11.12. Installing and Configuring Internet
Information Services on the Windows 2000
Workstation
Follow these steps to install and configure Internet Information Services (IIS).
1. If the Control Panel is not already displayed, click Start, then Settings, then Control
Panel.
The Control Panel window appears.
2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
The Add/Remove Programs window appears.
3. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
The Windows Components Wizard window appears.
4. Check the box for Internet Information Services, then click Next.
Components are configured, and the Insert Disk window appears.
5. Click OK.
The Files Needed window appears.
6. In the box labeled Copy files from, enter C:\I386.
7. Click OK.
The Insert Disk window appears again.
8. Click OK.
The Files Needed window appears again.
9. Again in the box labeled Copy files from, enter C:\I386.
10. Click OK.
The following message appears in the Windows Components Wizard window:
You have successfully completed the Windows Component Wizard.
11. Click Finish.
12. In the Add/Remove Programs window, click Close.
13. In the Control Panel window, double-click the Administrative Tools icon.
The Control Panel window becomes the Administrative Tools window.
14. Double-click the Internet Services Manager icon.
The Internet Information Services window appears.
15. Click the plus sign (+) to the left of the Workstation icon to expand the tree.
16. Right-click the Default FTP Site icon and select Properties from the pull-down menu
that appears.
The Default FTP Site Properties window appears.
