Installing and Configuring SPO Workstation Software 4. Click I Agree. You are asked to select the type of ControlIT environment to install. Select Install Non-Managed Viewer and Host Components. 5. Click Next. The Installation Wizard screen appears. Make sure Install Agent Viewer is checked and Install Agent Host is not checked. Under Setup Options, select Advanced. 6. Click Next. A screen for installing Unicenter TNG Framework appears. 7. Click Next. The Change Preferences screen appears. 8. Click OK. A Select Destination Directory screen appears. 9. Click Next to accept the default. A screen for creating program icons appears. 10. Click Next. A Ready to Install message appears. 11. Click Finish. When the installation finishes, click OK. The following message appears: Your system must be restarted. Restart now? 12. Remove the CD-ROM from the drive unit, then click Yes. 13. Set the Windows NT path to ControlIT as follows: a. Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears. b. Double-click the System icon. c. Click the Environment Tab. The System Properties window appears. d. Click Path in the list of system variables. e. In the Value field, go to end of path and type the following: ;C:\ControlIT f. Click SET, then click OK to exit. 14. Reboot the SPO workstation. Installing Winsock RSHD/NT on the Windows NT Workstation Winsock Remote Shell Daemon (RSHD/NT) is a Windows NT service that supports ControlIT by providing Remote Copy (RCP) server capabilities. Once installed, Winsock RSHD/NT runs as a service that automatically starts whenever the SPO workstation is booted. No further user interaction is required. Install Winsock RSHD/NT as follows: 1. If you are not currently logged on, power on or restart the SPO workstation and log on (11.14.2). 2. Insert the Winsock RSHD/NT diskette into the drive. 3. Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel. 4. Double-click Add/Remove Programs. An Add/Remove Programs Properties window appears. 5. Click Install. You are prompted to insert the product diskette or CD-ROM. 6. Click Next. An NT Run Installation window appears. 7. Click Finish. Windows NT momentarily displays the ADD/REMOVE window. Then a Winsock RSHD/NT installation window appears. 8. Verify that the information shown in the window is correct: • The destination drive and directory should be C:\WRSHDNT. • The box labeled Install as a Windows NT service should be checked. 9. If necessary, change the drive and directory, and click the check box to set it. When done, click INSTALL to begin the installation. Files will be copied to disk. A Winsock RSHD/NT warning window is displayed next. Click Yes. After a brief wait, the following prompt appears: Do you want to start the Winsock RSHD/NT Service automatically when Windows NT starts? 10. Click Yes. The Winsock RSHD/NT install completes, and the service is installed and automatically appears in the Windows NT list of services following reboot. Answer Yes or No to the message about reading the manual. 11. Reboot the Windows NT workstation. Proceed to 11.13 and install the SPO product information. 11.8.3. Installing Winsock RSHD/NT on the Windows NT<br />

Workstation<br />

Winsock Remote Shell Daemon (RSHD/NT) is a Windows NT service that supports<br />

ControlIT by providing Remote Copy (RCP) server capabilities. Once installed, Winsock<br />

RSHD/NT runs as a service that automatically starts whenever the SPO workstation is<br />

booted. No further user interaction is required.<br />

Install Winsock RSHD/NT as follows:<br />

1. If you are not currently logged on, power on or restart the SPO workstation <strong>and</strong> log on<br />

(11.14.2).<br />

2. Insert the Winsock RSHD/NT diskette into the drive.<br />

5. Click Install.<br />

10. Click Yes.<br />

The Winsock RSHD/NT install completes, <strong>and</strong> the service is installed <strong>and</strong> automatically<br />

appears in the Windows NT list of services following reboot.<br />

Answer Yes or No to the message about reading the manual.<br />

11. Reboot the Windows NT workstation.<br />

Proceed to 11.13 <strong>and</strong> install the SPO product information.<br />

Continue by changing the default Windows password (11.14.3); then proceed to Section 12.<br />
