• Installing the SPO Basic Edition fonts • Configuring XVision Copying SPO Basic Edition Fonts Installing and Configuring SPO Workstation Software SPO Basic Edition uses fonts that are not supplied by either Windows NT or XVision. In addition, SPO Basic Edition uses aliases for some of the fonts supplied by XVision. The fonts and aliases are supplied on the SPO Basic Edition release media and reside on the SPO server. Standard X fonts (100dpi, 75dpi, misc, and so on) are supplied in .FON format, which is the format supported by Windows NT. Font files specific to SPO Basic Edition are in .pcf format, which XVision can use without recompilation. To make the SPO Basic Edition fonts available to XVision, you must copy the fonts from the SPO server to the SPO workstation and then install them. The procedures for these tasks are given next. This procedure describes how to copy the SPO Basic Edition fonts from the SPO server to the SPO workstation: 1. If you are not currently logged on, power on or restart the SPO workstation and log on (11.14.2). 2. Click Start, Programs, then Command Prompt. A command prompt window opens. 3. At the command prompt, type the following command, then press Enter to change to the directory containing XVision fonts. cd \progra~1\vision\fonts 4. Create a subdirectory under that directory, and then change to it, by entering the following commands: mkdir spofonts cd spofonts 5. Initiate an FTP session by entering the following command: ftp sposerver-ip where sposerver-ip is the Ethernet IP address of the SPO server (see Table 2–2). An FTP logon prompt appears. 6. Log on as follows: a. Type spadmin (the SPO administrator user-id). b. Press Enter to advance to the password field. c. Type unisys1234 (the default installation password). d. Press Enter again. 7850 5104–009 Version 009B (Web Only) 11–21
