Note: You can also select Windows Messaging and Games if the site prefers.
11. Click Next to proceed.
The Windows NT Setup screen indicates that installing Windows NT networking is
about to begin.
12. Click Next to proceed to the next screen.
A screen appears with the option Computer will Participate in Network selected. The
following check boxes also appear:
• Wired to the network
• Remote access to the network
13. Click Wired to the network, then click Next.
A screen for selecting network adapters appears.
14. Select network adapters as follows:
a. Click Start Search.
“DEC PCI Ethernet DECchip 21041 (detected)” is added to the list box.
b. Click Find Next.
The following message appears:
No more adapters were found.
c. Click Next.
A Network Protocols screen appears. The only required protocol is the TCP/IP
protocol. The NWLink IPX/SPX compatible transport and NetBEUI Protocol are not
required for initial installation, but they may be selected if required by the site.
15. Ensure that the TCP/IP protocol is selected. If not, click TCP/IP protocol to select it,
then click Next, then click Next again.
A dialogue box appears for DEC DECchip 21041 Based Adapter Setup. The default of
AutoSense should be displayed.
16. Click Continue.
Installation of networking components begins. A message box asks whether you want
to use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server.
17. Click No.
After about a minute, a tabbed Microsoft TCP/IP Properties screen appears.
18. Configure the Ethernet network adapter card as follows:
a. Use the scroll bar to select the following adapter from the drop-down list of
adapters:
