10.16. Stopping and Starting the SPO Daemons
Note: Switch the monitor concentrator to the SPO server position.
The SPO daemons are background processes on the SPO server that must be running for
the correct operation of SPO Basic Edition. If you need to stop them or start them, enter
the appropriate command from the procedure below:
1. If you are not already logged on at the SPO server, log on as superuser in character
mode (10.15.3).
2. Enter the following command to stop the SPO daemons:
/etc/init.d/spod stop
3. Enter the following command to start the SPO daemons:
/etc/init.d/spod start
Whenever the SPO server is rebooted, the SPO daemons restart automatically.
You can use steps 2 and 3 above independently if for any reason you need to stop the
daemons or restart them (for example, if one was stopped inadvertently).
