Installing SPO Basic Edition and Related Software 3. Enter the following command: pkgadd -d diskette1 eqn A prompt to insert the diskette appears: Insert diskette into Floppy Drive 1. Type [go] when ready, or [q] to quit: (default: go) 4. Press Enter. Several messages appear indicating progress of the installation. After a few minutes, a prompt asks whether this is an ISA system: This seems to be an ISA system. Is this correct [Y/n]? 6. Type Y, then press Enter. A message asks whether you want the driver to autoconfigure all ISA boards: Should the driver autoconfigure all Equinox ISA boards [Y/n]? 7. Type Y, then press Enter. After a few seconds, a message appears stating that you can enable high baud rates. You may enable selection of baud rates above 38400 for all ports by answering "Yes" to the following question. If you enable baud rates above 38400, speeds below 300 baud will be unavailable. Speeds 300 to 38400 are unaffected. The high baud rates are selected according to the following table: 57600 B50 76800 B75 115200 B110 230400 B134 (depending on board/module type) Enable high baud rate selection [y/N]? y 8. Type Y, then press Enter. A message asks for further instructions: Should the default set of port monitors/services be installed [Y/n]? 9. Type Y, then press Enter. A message asks for the baud rate: Enter the port service baud rate [9600]: 10. Press Enter to accept the default (9600). The installation completes. 11. Remove the diskette from the drive unit. Installing SPO Basic Edition Software To install SPO Basic Edition software and related online documentation, take the following steps at the SPO server: 1. Log on as the root user (user-id root) in character mode (10.15.3).The pound sign (#) prompt appears indicating that you are the root user. 2. Put the SPO Basic Edition CD-ROM (labeled “SPO/HMP Console for UnixWare Software level 6.1CP”) in the drive unit of the SPO server. 3. Enter the following command: pkgadd -d cdrom1 spo-cp.61 A prompt to insert the CD-ROM appears: Insert CD into SCSI CD-Rom Drive 1. Type [go] when ready, or [q] to quite: (default:go) 4. Press Enter. The installation script now prompts you for the following information to which you can respond by pressing the Enter key to accept the default: • The directory where you want to install SPO software (default is /opt/SPO). • The directory where you want to store your SPO log files (default is/var/opt/SPO_Log). • The directory where you want to store your site-dependent data (default is /var/opt/spo). In addition, the script automatically configures the following information: • The Single Point Operations administrator logon name (spadmin). • The group name for the installation files (spo). • The operator name for users of SPO Basic Edition (spoper). After configuring this information, the installation script displays your entries and asks you to confirm them. 5. Press Enter to confirm your selections. You are prompted for an administrator password. Note: The prompts for administrator and operator passwords appear only on initial installation when the spadmin and spoper user-ids are added to the system. 6. Type unisys12 and press Enter. You are prompted for an operator password. 7. Type unisys12 and press Enter. The script now installs the software according to the information provided and displays a message when done. 8.
