Installing UnixWare 7 Enter a list of up to 6 domains to search for a host name that does not include a domain name. For each domain you enter, click Add to add the domain to the list. You should include the local domain in this list. Host names are searched in the order in which you specify them in this list. Click Promote or Demote to move the selected item to a different position in the order. • Name server search order Enter a list of up to three DNS name servers, specified by their IP addresses. For each server address you enter, click Add to add the server to the list. If the host you are configuring is already configured as a domain name server, specify it first in the list. Use the loopback IP address (127.0.0.1). The resolver queries each DNS server in the list, in the order listed, until it receives an answer. Click Promote or Demote to move the selected item to a different position in the order. 4. Click OK. 5. Select Host. 6. Select Exit. 8.7. Setting Up the Documentation Search Engine To set up the documentation search engine, follow these steps: 1. Run the following command as the root user (user-id root) in the console window: /usr/man/bin/config_search -f This takes approximately 15 minutes. 2. Reboot. Continue by installing and running the tuning script (8.8). 8.8. Installing and Running the Tuning Script (Site- Installed UnixWare) Note: Perform this procedure only if you installed the UnixWare operating system and entered site-specific information as described in 8.4. If the UnixWare operating system was preloaded, install and run the tuning script as described in 8.2. The tuning scripts diskette contains a script you must run to complete installation and configuration of the UnixWare operating system IOE. Take the following steps to install and run that tuning script: 1. If you are not already logged on, log on as the root user (user-id root) (see 8.12.1). 2. Insert the tuning scripts diskette (labeled “UnixWare 7 Intel Server Node”) into the disk drive and enter the following command to install and execute the tuning script (cptune): # pkgadd-d diskette1 cptune A prompt to insert the diskette appears: Insert diskette into Floppy drive 1. Type [go] when ready, or [q] to quit (default: go) 4. Press Enter. Messages appear, prompting you to enter commands to change directories and start the tuning script: ClearPath tuning and configuration script Version x.x Copyright (c) 1997 Unisys, Inc. All Rights Reserved. ## Processing package information. ## Processing system information. ## Verifying disk space requirements. Installing ClearPath Tuning and configuration script as ## Installation of part 1 of 1 is complete. ## Executing postinstall script. Please enter the following commands to complete the ClearPath tuning: cd /var/sadm/pkg/cptune/install sh CP_tune Installation of ClearPath Tuning and Configuration Script (cptune) was successful. 5. As indicated in the message, enter the cd and sh commands as follows: # cd /var/sadm/pkg/cptune/install # sh CP_tune A prompt asks whether or not the script is being run on the SPO server. Is this a SPO server? 6. Enter N (no) to indicate that this is not the SPO server. You are asked whether the operating system was installed by you or by the factory. If you installed the UNIXWARE OS, you have already configured it. If the OS was installed at the factory, you need to customize it for your site. Did you install the UNIXWARE OS? [Y/n]: 7.
