8.5. Granting User Privileges
If you need to grant privileges to a user (for example, the system owner), execute the
following commands as the root user:
# /bin/adminuser -n -a pkgadd:/user/sbin/pkgadd:dacread:dacwrite user_name
# /bin/adminuser -a pkgrm:/user/sbin/pkgrm:dacread:dacwrite user_name
The user can then execute pkgadd or pkgrm as follows:
$ /sbin/tfadmin /usr/sbin/pkgadd
$ /sbin/tfadmin /usr/sbin/pkgrm
8.6. Configuring the Network Adapter
This subsection explains how to configure the network adapter and how to configure a
domain name service client.
8.6.1. Configuring the Ethernet and FDDI Network Adapters
Configure the network adapter by doing the following (from the graphical interface):
1. Log on as the root user (user-id root) , if you are not already logged on (8.12.1).
2. In the task bar, click the second arrow from the right, above the fifth icon from the
right, to present the SCO menu.
3. Click the SCO Admin icon.
4. Scroll to Networking and double-click.
5. Double-click Network Configuration Manager.
6. Select Hardware.
7. Select Add new LAN adapter.
8. Select the following adapter:
ES2045R and DR/2:
Ethernet - Intel(R) PRO/100B / PRO/100 + (7.1.1 - v1.3.9) - PCI Slot 7 Bus 3
Device 4 Function 0
ES2085R:
Ethernet - Intel(R) PRO/100B / PRO/100 + (7.1.1 - v1.3.9) - PCI Slot 4 Bus 3
Device 4 Function 0
9. Select Continue.
As the adapter is added, you are prompted to select a protocol.
10. Select TCP/IP.
11. Select Add.
You are prompted for your domain name, IP address, and default router.
