Installing UnixWare 7 23. Initialize the system drive as follows: a. Use the arrow keys (or press Tab) to highlight the system drive, then press Enter. b. Hit Esc key. This returns to previous menu. c. Select 2, press Enter. d. Select Yes, press Enter. A confirmation message appears. e. Select Yes, press Enter. The system drives are initialized simultaneously. Initialization takes from 1 to 2 hours with 2-GB drive units. A progress bar appears for each drive unit. Once initialization is complete, a message to that effect is displayed. 24. Press any key to return to the Main Menu. 25. Select 03 (View/Update Configuration), then press Enter. A View/Update Configuration menu appears as follows: View/Update Configuration 1. Define Pack 2. Define System Drive 3. Add Drive to Last Pack 26. Select 2 (Define System Drive), then press Enter. The System Drive Definition screen and menu appear. 27. Change the write policy for the drive back to write through from write back as follows: a. Select 2 (Toggle Write Policy) from the System Drive Definition menu, then press Enter. The cursor jumps to the Write Mode column in the system drive table. b. Press Enter to toggle the write mode. 28. Press Esc to return to the System Drive Definition menu; then press Esc twice again to return to the Main Menu. A confirmation window appears asking whether you want to save the configuration. 29. Select Yes, then press Enter. The Main Menu is redisplayed. 30. Use the arrow keys to select 07 (Tools), then press Enter. The Tools menu appears as follows: Tools 1. Bad Block Table 2. 5. Kill Drive 6. Backup/Restore Conf 7. Clear Configuration 8. Print Configuration 31. Use the arrow keys to select 6 (Backup/Restore Conf), then press Enter. The Backup/Restore Conf menu appears as follows: Backup/Restore Conf Installing UnixWare 7 Backup Configuration Restore Configuration 32. Select the Backup Configuration option, then press Enter. You are prompted to enter a file name where the configuration is to be stored. 33. Insert a blank diskette labeled “RAID Configuration Backup” into the drive unit, then enter the file name and press Enter. A confirmation message indicates that any existing file of the same name will be overwritten on the diskette. 34. Click Yes. The configuration is saved to diskette. 35. Press Esc to return to the Main Menu. An exit confirmation screen appears. 36. Select Yes to exit. The A:\ prompt is displayed. 37. Remove the diskette and reboot. Now install the UnixWare 7 operating system as described in 8.4. Procedure for the ES2085R Node Configure the RAID disk controller for RAID level 1 (mirroring) for two disks units.
