8.3. Configuring the RAID Controller Installing UnixWare 7 The steps for installing and configuring a new RAID disk array controller (DAC) are as follows: 1. Load the DACCF Utilities (8.3.1). 2. Complete the RAID configuration (8.3.2). Note: If you are performing a full installation on a system that was preloaded, do not format the RAID disk. Instead, use the DAC BIOS utility to initialize the RAID volume before you reload the operating system. Formatting the disk makes the drive unrecognizable to the software. 8.3.1. Load DACCF Utilities Follow the procedures for the type of node you are configuring (DR/2, ES2045R, or ES2085R). Loading DACCF Utilities on an ES2045R or DR/2 Node To load DACCF utilities on an ES2045R or DR/2 node, do the following: 1. Insert a DOS bootable diskette. 2. When the MS-DOS prompt appears, remove the diskette and insert the diskette labeled “DACCF CONFIGURATION AND UTILITIES” in drive A. Continue with the steps in 8.3.2. Loading DACCF Utilities on an ES2085R Node To load DACCF utilities on an ES2085R node, do the following: 1. Turn on the power. 2. During booting, press Alt-R when the DAC1100 BIOS begins to load. Continue with the steps in 8.3.2. 8.3.2. Complete the RAID Configuration Follow one of the two procedures below to finish configuring the RAID controller. Procedure for the ES2045R and DR/2 Nodes 1. Change directories on the A drive by typing CD DACCFG, then press Enter. CD DACCFG 7850 5104–009 Version 009B (Web Only) 8–7
