7.1. Completing Windows NT Installation
Completing Windows Installation
This section describes how to complete installation and configuration of software on a
Windows NT node for these systems:
• Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition, on an ES5044R node
• Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition, on an ES2024R node
• Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition, on an ES2045R node
• Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition, on an ES5085R node
• Windows NT Server 4.0 on a DR/2 node
To complete a Windows NT installation, take the following steps:
1. (Full install only)Install Service Pack 3 (or the latest service pack) for Windows NT
(7.1.1).
2. (DR/2) Install the Unisys hardware monitor (7.1.2).
3. Configure the hosts file for ClearPath networking (7.1.3).
4. Configure the correct number of client licenses (7.1.4).
5. Install and configure the RAID utility software (7.1.5).
6. (Full install only) Install and configure video drivers (7.1.6).
7. (Full install only) Install current Microsoft Internet Explorer (7.1.7).
8. (ES5085R and ES2045R) Install the Active Server Pages upgrade for Microsoft Internet
Information Server (IIS) 3.0 (7.1.8).
9. (DR/2) Install and configure ControlIT server software (7.1.9).
10. Configure the tape drive (7.1.10).
11. Set balanced server priorities (7.1.11).
12. Configure the FTP service (7.1.12).
13. Enable a guest account (7.1.13).
14. Create a logical F drive (7.1.14).
15. Apply the latest service pack (7.1.15).
16. (ES5085R) Install ess software (7.1.16).
17. Create the emergency repair disk (7.1.17).
