Installing Windows NT Server 4.0 (DR/2)
• In step 2, you must press Alt-R within a few seconds to enter the RAID controller
configuration procedure; otherwise, the normal boot procedure continues.
Take the following steps to run the RAID controller configuration utility:
1. Power on or reboot the Intel node.
Several start-up messages appear, including a prompt to press Alt-M, as follows:
DAC1100 ADAPTER BIOS VERSION x.xx
Mylex Corporation
Host Adapter-1 Firmware Version x.xx DRAM size xxx MB
1 Logical Drives found on the Host Adapter
1 Logical Drives handled by BIOS

2. Press Alt-R to start BIOS Options Utility. A BIOS options menu appears:
----BIOS Options-----
BIOS enabled
CD-ROM boot disabled
8GB drive geometry
Note: If BIOS options are not set as above, continue with steps 3 through 7 as
needed; otherwise, go to step 8.
3. Select the BIOS option using the arrow keys. Press Enter to change the option to
Enabled.
4. Select the drive geometry option using the arrow keys. Press Enter to change the
option to 8GB.
A warning message appears:
Changing drive geometry may lead to non-bootable
system drives and/or loss of data!
Proceed anyway? (Y/N)
5. Type Y (yes) and press Enter. The drive geometry is now 8GB.
6. Press Esc twice to quit BIOS Option Utility.
A message appears:
The system will restart.
Press any key to continue.
7. Press Enter and let the system reboot.
8. Press Alt-M to start the Mylex RAID EzAssist utility.
