Installing Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition (ES5044R, ES5085R, and
ES2024R)
h. Click “Start search.”
The AMD PCNET Family Ethernet Adapter is detected and added to the list box.
i. Click “Find next.”
The SysKonnect SK-NET FDDI PCI adapter is detected and added to the list box.
Both adapters (AMD PCNET and Syskonnect) should now be listed.
j. Click Next.
Perform steps k through q for the ES5044R only:
k. Click “Select from list.”
l. Click “Have disk.”
m. Insert the diskette labeled “Supplemental Drivers Diskette.”
n. Click OK.
The Intel(R)82559 Fast Ethernet Lan on Motherboard is detected and added to the
list box.
o. Click OK.
p. Click “Find next.”
The SysKonnect SK-NET FDDI PCI adapter is detected and added to the list box.
q. Click Next.
A Network Protocols screen appears. The only required protocol is the TCP/IP
protocol. The NWLink IPX/SPX compatible transport and NetBEUI protocol are not
required for initial installation, but they may be selected if required by the site.
15. Deselect any protocols not required.
16. Ensure that the TCP/IP protocol is selected. If it is not, click TCP/IP Protocol to select
it.
17. Click Next.
A screen for selecting Network services appears. The following networking
components are listed in the list box by default:
• Microsoft Internet Information Server 2.0
• Remote procedure call (RPC) configuration
• Network Basic Input/Output System (NETBIOS) Interface
• Workstation
• Server
In addition, the following network services are required:
• Simple TCP/IP service.
• Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) service. (The SNMP agent
package is needed for SysAdmin.)
