Installing Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition (ES5044R, ES5085R, and
ES2024R)
Note: You will create the emergency repair disk later. Have a labeled diskette
ready for that purpose.
The Select Components screen appears with the following defaults selected:
• Accessibility options
• Accessories
• Communications
• Multimedia
Note: You can also select Windows Messaging and Games if desired by the site.
10. Click Next to proceed.
The Windows NT Setup screen indicates that installing Windows NT networking is
about to begin.
11. Click Next to proceed to the next screen.
A screen appears with the option “Computer will participate in network” selected. The
following check boxes also appear:
• Wired to the network
• Remote access to the network
12. Select Wired to the network, then click Next.
A screen appears with a check box labeled “Install Microsoft Internet Information
Server” already checked.
13. Click Next.
A screen for selecting network adapters appears.
14. Select network adapters as follows:
Perform steps a through g for ES5085R only:
a. Click “Start search.”
The SysKonnect SK-NET FDDI PCI adapter is detected and added to the list box.
b. Click “Select from list.”
c. Click “Have disk.”
d. Insert the diskette labeled “Intel Pro Dual Port Driver Diskette” in the drive. (For
information on creating this diskette, see the note following Table 4–1.)
e. Click OK.
The Intel EtherExpress PRO adapter is detected and both ports are displayed in
the list box.
f. Click OK.
Both adapter types (Syskonnect FDDI and Intel PRO) should now be listed.
g. Click Next.
Perform steps h through j for the ES2024R only:
