Installing Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition (ES5044R, ES5085R, and
ES2024R)
2. Enter name and organization as follows:
a. Name field—Enter the user name the site wants identified with the Windows NT
node.
b. Press the Tab key to advance to the Organization field.
c. Organization field—Enter the organization the site wants identified with the
Windows NT node.
d. Click Next to proceed to the next screen.
A Registration screen appears asking for the registration number from the Certificate
of Authentication.
3. Enter the registration number as recorded in Table 2–2, or enter it directly from the
Certificate of Authentication, as follows:
a. Type the required digits in each field.
b. Click Next to proceed.
The Computer Name screen appears.
Note: This name (up to 15 characters) is the Network Basic Input/Output System
(NETBIOS) name that uniquely identifies the computer in the Windows NT
workgroup or domain. It must be different from the workgroup or domain
name.
4. In the Name field, enter the host name from Table 2–2 by which the Windows NT node
will be identified on the external TCP/IP network. Click Next to proceed to the next
screen.
The Server Type screen appears.
5. Click Stand Alone (the ClearPath default) or the option requested by the site. (See
Table 2–1.)Click Next to proceed, then click Next again.
Note: In this step, the client may elect to install the server as a primary domain
controller (PDC) or backup domain controller (BDC), rather than a standalone
server. In this case, however, additional steps must be taken that are
not described in this procedure (see Table 2–1).
The Administrator Account screen appears.
6. Enter and confirm the password for the administrator’s account as follows:
a. In the Password field, type the password administrator.
b. Press the Tab key to go to the Confirm Password field. Type administrator in
that field.
c. Click Next to proceed.
Note: Following installation, the site must change the default password
(administrator) to a different password.
After about 1 minute, a Windows NT Setup screen for configuring networking appears.
7. Click Next.
The setup program searches for network adapters. After a brief wait, an error message
appears:
