The quality of required of shellfish waters is evaluated annually. <strong>Water</strong> needed for the life and growth<br />

of mar<strong>in</strong>e bivalves and gastropods is of suitable quality if:<br />

• 100% of samples do not exceed the mandatory or guide values for organic halogens and metals,<br />

• 95% of samples are not lower than the mandatory or guide values for dissolved oxygen,<br />

• 75% of samples do not exceed the mandatory or guide values for all other parameters.<br />

The mandatory and guide values required for the quality of shellfish waters are shown <strong>in</strong> Table 13.<br />
