If you have a taste for
the paranormal, Miami
Mercantile can cover that
too. Holtzen says ghost
hunters who have visited
the 1917 structure all agree
it’s haunted. While Miami
Mercantile does not book
ghost tours themselves,
they can arrange for one if
you’re interested.
Stewart’s Antique Nook,
at 409 Sullivan St., is just
a short walk from the former
YMCA building. Here,
weekend visitors and shoppers
can marvel at Arizona’s
biggest collection of antique
radios for sale as they
browse the “renovated radios
and other cool things” in
the spacious store’s “three
rooms of fun.”
Vintage radios of all
kinds, some from the 1930s
and all ready for immediate
use, line both walls of
Stewart’s Antique Nook,
and a jukebox stands in one
corner. The shop, which
opened in August 2021,
also carries antique phonographs
and LPs, kitchen appliances,
dishware and art,
including custom mosaic
work. Stewart’s is open Saturdays
and Sundays from
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
