From Our Director
Welcome to our 2nd annual Keeping the Promise concert,
a wonderful celebration of our families and the community
of supporters who have helped them on their journey.
Tonight, we invite you to sit back and enjoy an incredible
line-up of talented musicians while also being inspired with
updates from our families who, despite their challenges,
have stories to share of hope and success.
This past year COVID continued to impact our parents and
children, yet we were once again proud and grateful to have
increased the number of families served across our
programs, surpassing the record set just last year. As we
look to the future, we are excited to begin construction this
month to convert our Day Center into a home for our
families in shelter. We can’t wait to invite the congregations
and volunteers here to share meals and offer support,
while providing stability for our families.
So tonight, as the festivities begin, we want to thank each of
you for joining us and for caring about the future of our
families. It has been nearly two years since the pandemic
changed our world, yet as long as we have compassion for
each other, we will never stop Keeping the Promise to our
families to help them create brighter futures for their
children.

Our Awards
Cindy Lombardo was a tireless and dedicated FPM volunteer,
cherished for her ability to create an “extravagant welcome”
for our FPM families every time Temple Shir Tikva hosted our
families. The Cindy Lombardo Volunteer Award is given to
an FPM volunteer, nominated by our past and current
families, who fulfills and honors Cindy’s incredible model of
warmth, compassion, and devotion.
The Family Promise Metrowest Legacy Award honors an
extraordinary, long-standing supporter whose generosity and
dedication to our mission will have a lasting impact on our
families for years to come.

About Us
Family Promise Metrowest offers a community response to
families that are facing homelessness. Our approach to
addressing family homelessness and housing instability is
simple: We believe motivated families can move themselves
out of poverty and establish stable, sustainable homes if
given resources, guidance, and the encouragement to set and
work toward goals.
Our four programs provide a continuum of support to
families in varying stages of housing instability: Our Shelter
program offers temporary housing to families with children
that have lost their home. Our families in shelter are
supported by a large network of multi-faith congregations
and the community at large, which supply volunteers, food,
and other essential services for our families. Families in
shelter meet weekly with a family coach to set and work
toward goals that address the root causes of their housing
loss.
Our SAIL program supports families that graduate from our
shelter for one to two years, providing housing subsidies,
connections to community resources, and ongoing coaching
to ensure their successful transition back into community
housing.

Our LIFE program helps families facing eviction or shelter
entry remain in safe housing by providing subsidies for rent
in arrears or security deposits, along with family coaching to
build long-term sustainability. This program helps families
avoid the upheaval of shelter entry, while building skills for
long-term sustainability.
Lastly, all families are supported by the Steps to Success
program, which offers educational and career-building
support and subsidies to adults and teens in all our housing
programs and provides scholarships to current and alumni
individuals that are pursuing higher education.
Family Promise Metrowest envisions a future in which every
family has a stable home, a sustainable income, and the
chance to build a better future. We have served over a
thousand family members since our founding in 2008
through our individualized, community-based programs.

Acknowledgments
The people who came together in kindness, compassion, and
community spirit to create this incredible evening would take
pages to properly thank.
The decision to make last year’s Keeping the Promise event
virtual enabled us to share this annual event with all of our
supporters. From the comfort of our homes, we celebrated the
incredible accomplishments of the families we’ve served in our
community. Last year’s success provided a path to continue the
tradition with tonight’s 2nd annual Keeping the Promise concert.
This year, as you join us from your favorite comfy chair, we are
so excited to provide the details of our Match Campaign to fund
the conversion of our Day Center into a permanent home for
our families, for you to hear the inspirational stories of our
families, and to share the music of the spectacular musicians
who are performing for us. In the words of Ed Sullivan, “We have
a really big show tonight.”
