The 21st-century workplace requires not only technical knowledge but excellent<br />
interpersonal skills. You need to be able to communicate effectively <strong>and</strong> advocate<br />
for yourself, your projects, <strong>and</strong> your team. Our pr<strong>of</strong>essional skills courses are<br />
h<strong>and</strong>s-on trainings that you’ll leave with strategies to immediately implement in<br />
your workplace.<br />
APPLYING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE<br />

Emotional Intelligence is one <strong>of</strong> the most important skillsets for success in the workplace.<br />
It’s becoming increasingly recognized as an indicator <strong>of</strong> outst<strong>and</strong>ing performance, <strong>and</strong> a core<br />
competency for strong leadership – <strong>and</strong> the good news is that it’s a skillset that we can all keep<br />
improving on. In this discussion-based class, you’ll be introduced to the four core domains <strong>of</strong><br />
Emotional Intelligence. You’ll practice self-assessment <strong>and</strong> self-management techniques, as well<br />
as strategies focused on fostering empathy <strong>and</strong> communicating with others in an emotionally<br />
intelligent way. By the end <strong>of</strong> the class, you’ll create a personal action plan for continuing your<br />
Emotional Intelligence journey.<br />

PERSUASION AND INFLUENCE<br />
Taught by Vanessa Williams <strong>and</strong> Nicole Westrick<br />
Work requires us to make change in ways that include formal power. This course uses principles<br />
<strong>and</strong> approaches grounded in persuasion <strong>and</strong> influence to help you make a bigger impact in your<br />
organization. You will develop your ability to lead change by underst<strong>and</strong>ing the needs <strong>of</strong> your<br />
stakeholders, identifying <strong>and</strong> managing resistance, communicating effectively, <strong>and</strong> building buyin.<br />
This course provides the essential toolkit to help you lead <strong>and</strong> motivate others through any<br />
organizational change effort.<br />
