A Message from Head of School
Dr Ong Teck Chin
In August 2020, we began our new academic year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. All SISB staff met in our state-of-the-art auditorium
at Pracha Uthit campus where Mr Kelvin Koh, Chairman of the SISB Schools Governing Board, warmly welcomed all of us, new staff members
inclusive.
We were challenged to work together as we have done so in the past, so that SISB will continue to make its mark on our students in all sections
of our schools. We are to maintain the high standards we have set for our students and ourselves and be prepared to conduct online learning to
ensure learning is carried out smoothly and effectively.
I shared with the audience the theme for the year “Soar on Wings Like Eagles”. Staff members were encouraged to give their best to nurture
students in their various facets of learning and to help them achieve our school Vision and Mission in spite of the difficulties and restrictions
imposed upon us because of COVID-19.
Following the above, SISB schools swung into action seeking to achieve our Vision and Mission. Induction programmes were mounted for staff
and students at all levels. All-staff training focused on operationalising online learning as well as in using effective strategies for learning and
teaching. The Nursery-Kindergarten, Primary and Sixth Form sections continued with their efforts in offering the best education, activities and
programmes to their charges.
We were able to work concertedly to successfully meet the CIS pre-evaluation exercise and also implement the IB Diploma Programme for our
first batch of students in Grade 11. We continued to secure outstanding Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level results and implemented a Virtual
Open House with great accolades. In addition, SISB embarked on the starting of a new campus to be ready in August 2022 in Nonthaburi.

A Message from Head of School

The academic year 2020-2021 is definitely a milestone in the history of SISB. The most unforgettable being how our schools were able to soar
above the restrictions of the pandemic. We take pride that SISB has tackled the pandemic, taking its challenges and demands in our stride. This
worldwide pandemic has challenged us to rethink the many things that we have taken for granted, our lives, our health, our families, our
education and our day-to-day living.
Even with the surging pandemic, we were still able to soar on wings like eagles above the pandemic storm, united as “One SISB” to speedily
develop strategies for online learning and teaching, including examinations. Our successes can be attributed to the combined effort, co-operation
and unity in mind of all in SISB, well demonstrated by the Corporate, Operations, Academic, Security, Nursing, Admissions and Administrative
staff. On this note, I would like to thank and extend my congratulations and heartfelt appreciation to all staff.
With the above, we look forward to the new academic year with optimism as we attempt to continue to “Shine Like Stars in the Universe”,
which is the theme for our new academic year.
