1940<br />
Robert F. McKibben, BChE, spent 36 years as<br />
Lubrication Engineer at NCR <strong>and</strong> 20 years as a part-time<br />
Math Instructor at Sinclair Community College. He<br />
retired from NCR in 1976 <strong>and</strong> Sinclair in 2000.<br />
Richard J. Mitchell, MS ’41, was a member <strong>and</strong> for six<br />
years was President of the Board of Directors of the<br />
Central Contra Cotta Sanitary District in Walnut Creek,<br />
CA (1951-75). He is a veteran of WWII <strong>and</strong> was an Air<br />
Corps Pilot. He is currently an active retiree involved in<br />
recreation <strong>and</strong> volunteer activities, travel, <strong>and</strong> local<br />
politics in his retirement community.<br />
1941<br />
Roy Merryman, BChE, is retired from the Los Alamos<br />
National Lab as an Engineer <strong>and</strong> Staff Member in<br />
Weapons <strong>Engineering</strong>. He received an MS in Nuclear<br />
<strong>Engineering</strong> at the University of New Mexico in June of<br />
1962.<br />
1943<br />
Robert W. Casciani, BChE, is retired VP of<br />
Manufacturing <strong>and</strong> <strong>Engineering</strong> in the Management<br />
Department of F.E. Myers Co.<br />
R. Marvin Garrett, BChE, is the retired owner of the<br />
Margar <strong>Engineering</strong> Corporation. Marvin has kept very<br />
busy traveling, flying planes, sailing, playing tennis, <strong>and</strong><br />
participating in numerous other adventures.<br />
Vern Seguin, BChE, is Associate Professor of the<br />
College of Business (Marketing) at the James Madison<br />
University. He was in the Navy <strong>and</strong> has worked <strong>and</strong><br />
lived in numerous locations. He has a Seven Continents<br />
World Travel Patch <strong>and</strong> has published travel articles.<br />
1948<br />
Cloyd P. Reeg, BChE, is President of the Research <strong>and</strong><br />
Energy Divisions of Unocal.<br />
1949<br />
Samuel Shiu-Ming Fok, BChE, retired in early 1990 as<br />
Principal Engineer at Perkin-Elmer EBT Division <strong>and</strong><br />
became a full-time consultant for ETEC System for<br />
another eight months. He now enjoys tutoring, Chinese<br />
brush painting, walking, table tennis, <strong>and</strong> photography.<br />
ALUMNI UPDATE<br />
Edward W. Wiederhold, BChE, is retired from the<br />
Contract Department at Volt Tech. in El Segundo, CA.<br />
He is the author of a book entitled “Long Journey: <strong>The</strong><br />
Life of Edward W. Wiederhold,” Vantage Press, New<br />
York, NY.<br />
J. Howard Kerstetter, Jr., BChE, is retired from the<br />
Laclede Gas Co. He enjoys his retirement at the Lake of<br />
the Ozarks <strong>and</strong> is active in his local church.<br />
1953<br />
Paul R. Kumler, MS ’53, is retired from the Analytical<br />
Staff of BF Goodrich/Geon/PolyOne <strong>and</strong> is enjoying<br />
retirement by playing music semi-professionally <strong>and</strong><br />
traveling.<br />
Paul Kumler <strong>and</strong> his wife Louise<br />
Willard Potter, MS ’77, is a retired teacher <strong>and</strong><br />
professor <strong>and</strong> a veteran of WWII <strong>and</strong> the Korean War.<br />
He travels extensively on missionary work trips.<br />
John M. Uncapher, BChE, is retired from the Thomas<br />
W. Rufflo Company.<br />
Kenneth E. Whitehead, BChE, is retired from the<br />
Science & Technology Department of Unocal. Outside<br />
interests include worldwide travel, photography,<br />
electronics, <strong>and</strong> computing.<br />
1954<br />
Gilbert E. Raines, MS ’54, is retired after working for<br />
Union Carbide, Battelle, Lawton & Associates, <strong>and</strong> EES<br />
Corporation. He has five children, two of whom have<br />
degrees from OSU.
