Burrito, Adopted 6/1/21
“We wanted to give you an update on our spicy little
Jack Russell mix, Burrito, who we adopted three
months ago. As you may remember, he was brought
to the facility by animal control as a stray. He was
exhibiting behavioral issues, including growling and
even biting – and we were well warned: this little guy
doesn’t need ANY hot sauce!”
“The first two weeks were naturally a big adjustment
period for Burrito, who stayed in one room of the
house and showed no interest in exploring or getting
too close to us. It became clear rather quickly that
Burrito had not had great experiences with humans in
the past. Being able to leash him without biting was a
two-week process. Putting on a collar was closer to a
month. Even though this was a challenging time for
us, we were still confident he could come around and
we were committed to doing everything we could to
make sure this would be his forever home.”
“Little by little, Burrito’s always guarded nature faded,
and his sweet and playful side became more and more
present. He’s a smart dog and learned basic commands
quickly! The slow and steady progress continues to
build on itself and today Burrito is
living his best life.”
“Burrito spends his days playing fetch with his tennis
balls, enjoying car rides, walking by the beach,
munching on carrots (his favorite low-calorie snack),
and of course napping! He is always entertaining and
we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him as part of
Smokey Robinson

“Ollie, whose name is now Smokey Robinson, is the
greatest cat ever! We couldn’t imagine our life without
him. He is sweet, loveable, funny, and definitely the
king of the house. He loves to play with his toys,
especially feather ones. He always greets us when we
come through the door and follows me or my husband
all the time. He loves his naps too. I am so happy that
he was available for us to adopt. He truly is the best cat
in the world and the perfect cat for our family.”
