– Fanfare magazine
World-renowned Anton Kuerti is a legend among Canada’s pianists and a master
interpreter of the music of Beethoven. An Officer of the Order of Canada, Kuerti is
also the recipient of the Governor General’s Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award,
the highest artistic award given by Canada. Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto is
an unforgettable journey of poetry, intimacy and joy.
Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7, brought the composer the most success in his
lifetime. The Austrian composer’s vast symphonies are sometimes called Gothic
Cathedrals-in-sound, or “mountains moving.” A unique and special conception of
time and space are in his works, which are deeply moving and rare experiences to
hear.
