EXPERIENCE

Eothen Homes: Residential Care Home, Sutton — Care

Assistant

April 2016 - September 2016

This role developed my punctuality, as the residents in the home had a strict

daily routine that I had to assist them in keeping to. This position allowed me

to strengthen my skills of empathy, organisation and listening to others, as

most of the residents suffered from dementia. I helped with carrying out

general tasks, attending to their needs, serving their food and spending time

with them.

Everyman Screen on the Green, Islington – Team Member:

Front of House/Host/Waitress/Chef/Bartender

September 2020 – August 2021

The city central location of Everyman Screen on the Green, made it a

cinematic and cultural hub of London, host to many film festival, premiere

and live performance events. Working here as a team member enabled me to

further enrich my existing skills of customer service and food handling, as

well as allowing me to develop a new set of skills. The position required me to

work on the bar, recommending and selling alcohol, as well as making

cocktails in a very fast-paced environment – making drinks and serving

crowds of around 100 people during events. In order to provide a welcoming

and luxurious cinema experience, a big part of my job was greeting

customers, showing them to their seats and making announcements before

films to welcome everyone and introduce the viewing. Furthermore, due to

COVID-19 restrictions, we were not selling food and drinks from the tills or

over the bar, and so everything was table service. This meant I had to

approach customers to take their orders and later bring food and drinks to

their seats. I was able to run orders quickly and efficiently, most times

carrying multiple trays. Whilst working at Everyman Screen on the Green, I

was fully kitchen trained and learnt how to make gourmet artisan pizzas, hot

dogs, sharing platters – including all cinema-made guacamole and salsas –

sundaes, milkshakes and coffees. This position gave me a significant amount

of well-rounded experience and allowed me to gain a valuable set of

transferable skills.
