FMA NYC TRIP INTEGRATING EXTERNAL ENGAGEMENT 50 FMA 2019-2021 MAGAZINE
Through collaboration, support, and initiative of Auburn FMA alumni and supporters, the group completed their fourth successful New York Trip. Fourteen students had the opportunity to interact with elite employers, expand the university’s professional network, and participate in the annual FMA International Finance Leadership Conference. The annual trip is a definite highlight for the students and provides an experiential look at day specific targeted career paths. In addition to the conference events, this year’s trip included a stop at the New York Stock Exchange where Joe Dente of Wellington Shields guided students through the exchange and introduced them to various traders as the opening bell rang. After spending the morning in downtown Manhattan, FMA headed to Midtown where they would meet with Moelis & Company, and Evercore. Auburn FMA alumnus, Jordan Carr, once again hosted an informative session at the Moelis office where they discussed transactions, the analyst experience and the firm’s recruiting process. Later that afternoon, the students attended an info session at Evercore where FMA supporters, Robbins Taylor and Brett Basik, welcomed the group and with another great learning/networking experience for the students.
