History: AMDA provides rigorous, performance-based training and an industry-focused education experience; one that inspires excellence and prepares artists with an appreciation for the universal power of transformation through art. Since 1964, AMDA <strong>College</strong> of the Performing Arts has been recognized for its rich history of launching successful careers in theatre, film, television and new media. AMDA offers BFA, AOS Degrees and Conservatory Programs in Acting, Music Theatre, Dance Theatre and Performing Arts on its NYC and Hollywood campuses. Facilities, Classrooms, and Theatres: AMDA New York's main facility is located at 211 West 61st Street, in the heart of the Upper West Side of Manhattan. the building's four floors house classrooms, rehearsal studios, private voice rooms, student lounges, a performing arts library, a student store and administrative offices. AMDA's secondary location is at 73rd Street and Broadway in the Ansonia, a historic landmark beaux-arts building. This facility features a theatre, additional performance space, studios and private voice rooms. AMDA Los Angeles main facility is an eight-story, historic art-deco building houses administrative offices, classrooms, studio spaces, a costume shop, a stage combat armory, a computer lab, a library, the AMDA Café, the campus store and a black box theatre. Scholarships and/or Assistantships: We give over $14 million to students in scholarships each year. Our program will challenge you to develop your talents, to cultivate your knowledge, and to think globally in a wider world of cultures and ideas. History: A beautiful rolling campus built on the grounds of the historic landmark Grey Towers Castle, Arcadia is a top-ranked private university in metropolitan Philadelphia offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. U.S. News & World Report ranks Arcadia University among the top 25 master's universities in the North and recognizes it as one of the top study abroad programs in the nation. Founded in 1853, Arcadia University is cited as being among the “most innovative” and “best value” colleges. In the theater program, we offer three degrees and produce an eclectic season of 4 to 6 productions a year, with a mix of contemporary & classical plays as well as devised work and musicals. Students are mentored by professionals as they work on the season productions or are employed in Theater Work Study Teams. Our small ensemble size ensures that students don't get lost in the crowd. Our proximity to Philadelphia, the fifth largest Theater market in the country, gives students opportunities to network, see live theater, and look for employment opportunities. In addition, students get multiple chances to study abroad. Facilities, Classrooms, and Theatres: The Little Theater, The Steel Building, the Castle and Stiteler Hall provide spaces for site-specific work, recitals, rehearsals, classes, and performances. Scholarships and/or Assistantships: Talent Scholarships are given to admitted BFA students. Theater Work Study opportunities are open to all in the Theater program. 25
