Mr. Semione read the Proclamation of Commendation and introduced all 

Athletes in attendance to come forward and receive their pins and certificates.

BE IT RESOLVED, that these student athletes were not only victorious 

on the fields of competition but also represented our schools and our city 

with exemplary sportsmanship, responsibility, respect and pride; and 

NOW BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the 

Gloversville Enlarged School District for the City of Gloversville takes due 

note of these accomplishments by our student athletes and coaches and 

congratulates them on their achievements in the classrooms and on the 

fields. 

Mr. Semione asked that a motion be made to approve the Proclamation 

of Commendation for the Scholar Athlete Teams. 

A motion was made by Mr. Carangelo and seconded by the entire Board 

to approve the Proclamation of Commendation for the Scholar Athlete 

Teams.

audit the district’s records for fiscal year ending June 30, 2011 at a cost not to 

exceed $20,500 as per the request for proposal dated November 17, 2010.

A question and answer period began regarding the Monthly Board 

Reports. 

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT 

Mr. DeLilli reported the following to the Board: 

--He encouraged everyone to visit the school website to read the story 

about Joel Kersting a Gloversville High School student who was chosen 

to attend Governor Cuomo’s State of the State Address. He attended 

with Kevin Kremler, Social Studies Teacher as invited guests. 

--The 2011 Budget Advisory Committee with be meeting for the first time 

this year on Thursday, January 13, 2011. 

--Governor Cuomo has not released any information on the tax cap yet. 

We will need to cap, cut, gut and be pointed at for not doing our jobs. 

The budget process will be very interesting and somehow we will get 

through it as best as we can. 

--The City of Gloversville will be hosting the swearing in of the new Fire 

Chief and conduct their Common Council Meeting on Tuesday evening, 

January 11, 2011 in our Middle School Auditorium. 

--The Conference on Advancing Student Achievement through Labor- 

Management Collaboration has contacted our school district requesting 

us to take part in a lottery drawing for the Superintendent, Board of 

Education President and Gloversville Teachers Association President to 

attend the conference together in Denver, Colorado. This will be an all 

expense paid trip if we are chosen to attend. 

At 7:40 PM, Mr. Semione asked that a motion be made to adjourn to 

Executive Session. A motion was made by Mrs. Simek and seconded by 

Mrs. Pike to adjourn to Executive Session.

to a provisional appointment as Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds 

with a salary of $50,000.00 (prorated) effective 1/11/11. 

A motion was made by Ms. Young and seconded by Ms. Brown to 

approve the resolution appointing Robert Rockwell to the provisional 

appointment of Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds with a salary of 

$50,000.00 (prorated) effective 1/11/11. 

Motion carried: Ayes: 6 Nays: 1 (Mrs. Simek) 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education approve the salary 

increase to $54,000.00 for Robert Rockwell once he fulfills the civil 

service requirements for the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. 

A motion was made by Ms. Brown and seconded by Ms. Young to 

approve the increase to $54,000.00 for Robert Rockwell once he fulfills 

the civil service requirements for the Superintendent of Buildings and
