You’ll notice a definite Lancashire bias in <strong>Local</strong><br />
<strong>Life</strong> this month. To celebrate Lancashire Day on<br />
<strong>Nov</strong>ember 27th, we’ve included a Jack’s Tracks<br />
from Pendle Hill, a feature on the nearby sculpture trail -<br />
which marks a link with an infamous ex-Windle resident<br />
- and we are also giving a lucky reader the chance to win<br />
a hamper stuffed with Lancashire produce.<br />
Forty-seven years after <strong>St</strong> <strong>Helens</strong> was dragged out of the<br />
county, many of us still doff our flat caps to Lancashire.<br />
In my view, we have the best of many worlds; the<br />
metropolises of Liverpool and Manchester are wonderful<br />
places to visit and easily reachable too, but a quick trip<br />
up the M6 brings Lancashire in all its glory.<br />
I saw a Yorkshire tourist board poster recently, that had<br />
been cheekily doctored by their Lancashire counterparts.<br />
With a scenic countryside view as a backdrop, the text<br />
read: Lancashire. It’s like Yorkshire, only nicer.<br />
