“Gulayan sa Paaralan” Program of the school presided the pure organic way of planting
and maintaining vegetable gardens inside the campus and in the backyards of the
school’s replicators. Thus, organic pesticides, organic fertilizers, and vermicast compost
were utilized. School’s Gulayan sa Paaralan were recognized to be one of the best
implementing schools in the province of Negros Oriental from 2017 up to present.
Integration of health-related activities and campaigns were strengthened in Guba NHS.
The school offered Caregiving Course to Grade 9 and 10, and Senior High School
Learners. Learners were taught on how to perform varied caregiving and health services
thoroughly considering that the barangay is located far from the health premises of the
Municipality. They were trained to become vigorously keen observers and ready for
unexpected incidents that may occur in the area. Furthermore, during the yearly Technical
Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Assessment, a hundred percent
passers were recorded. Recently, a learner from the school finished her medical course
and getting ready to be part of the medical team. Active participation in various activities
of the school was also visible. The Smoke Free Month together with the NDEP – a drug
related program, worked to establish activities emphasizing the risks and hazards in
taking prohibited drugs.
