Winter Walks & Weekend Getaways
We couldn't possibly feature a
weekend away walking and not
include the Lake District! It would
be like Christmas without a famous
department store advert! And
talking of Christmas, our next
featured hotel has a number of

drive from the busy town of
Ambleside which lies at the head
of Lake Windermere. This hotel
is known for its warm welcome to
walkers plus it has the added appeal

own drying room for those days
when you get caught in the rain too!
There's a good selection of short
and long walks, varying from easy
to more strenuous, with many
walks starting at the front door of
the hotel and once you return, it's
to real log fires, real ales and really
comforting meals for hungry
fell walkers!
