Cómo aprender a decir “NO”
NO.
quiere persuadir.
Sometimes, we get caught up in situations that we
don't want, letting ourselves be carried away by
others and doing things that we don't really want
to do because we don't know how to say NO.
Sometimes, people around us use different strategies
such as insisting over and over again, giving us
many arguments, trying to make us feel guilty,
messing with our minds, ... to get us to do what they
propose. These are some things you could do to
avoid falling into a yes.
1. Clarify the request. First of all, it is important that
we clarify what the request is that they are making
of us.
2. Analyze the consequences. Next, we have to
think about the consequences of accepting or
rejecting that request. We can tell the person to
give us a second to think about it or that we are
not sure, while we do that analysis.
3. Think about it. Before answering, think about it
once more. You do not have to respond at that
time. Maybe you have to consult with someone
else, look at your agenda, or close a previously
planned plan that is still in the air, before saying
whether you want to or not.
4. Express the negative assertively. Sometimes
we feel uncomfortable saying no, and it leads us
to make unclear excuses. You have to be clear
and kind when rejecting that request, to avoid
making the other person feel bad. Some examples:
“I would like to say yes, but it is very bad for
me”, “I would like to accompany you but I have
things to do”, “I understand that you want me to
lend you my car, but I need it for this afternoon”.
5. Employ the sandwich technique. This technique
consists of expressing something positive
before and after saying NO. For example: “I
would love to help you, but I am dead on time,
if you want to see it rst thing tomorrow morning”,
“thank you for having me, but today it is not good
for me, if you want we can meet another day for
coffee”. All this is necessary to feel responsible for
our decisions, gain self-condence, maintain our
self-esteem, not be inuenced and not get angry
with the person who wants to persuade us.
¡Nunca es tarde para empezar!
It is never too late to start!
When parents register their children for music classes, they often tell me stories that they too were in piano, violin, or guitar classes.
They say their parents didn't insist when they had learning difficulties and "didn't want to go back". I have heard stories like this a
thousand times, where parents send their children to music classes because they "would have wanted to continue". I want to tell adults
in general that IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO START.
In the music academy that I had in Costa Rica, we use the phrase, “Teaching music to adults is very different from that of children,
as adults come because they really want to, no one sent him, nor does he feel obliged to anyone. Adults come to class purely to
enjoy learning to play an instrument, to get out of the daily routine, and why not, to do something different, something special just
for him.”.
Normally the adult advances much faster than the child, of course. The ability to process information is obviously higher than a small
child. Through the article in this edition, I want to motivate all adults who would like to learn to play piano not to feel shy, because
there is always time to learn something new, and teachers are here for that, to help students learn, regardless of their age.
Remember that there is more time than life. Learning to play a musical instrument is a healthy and educational way to pass the
time, get out of boredom, and do something special for yourself!
¡Hola!
Probablemente no. Tomemos
hoy!
Hi! I am Dr. Richard Manning, D.C. I am a Doctor of
Chiropractic with more than 25 years of experience.
My wife, daughter, and I moved to Baton Rouge from
Costa Rica in the fall of 2005 and opened our chiropractic
clinic a year later. We wanted to create a clinic
that was comfortable and welcoming to the Latino
community. 15 years later we continue to serve the
Latino community, offering them a service that focuses
on the care and correction of problems in their lower
back, neck, middle back, shoulders, wrists, knees and
ankles. We do this naturally, without pills or injections,
by using electrical stimulation, roller bed, spinal decompression,
dry needling, kinesiology bandage,
massage chair, and finally and most importantly,
chiropractic adjustment, which is the realignment of
vertebrae or bones that are out of place. This is done
by hand and it feels wonderful.
Without these therapies, the pain you are experiencing
will never resolve. Nerves will remain pinched, discs will
be shredded, your quality of life will suffer, and your ability
to work may be compromised. The spine is the chassis of
the body. If your car's chassis was out of alignment, would
you be fit to drive? No. Is your body chassis aligned?
Probably not. Let's take a couple of X-rays and find out for
sure what is causing that pain in the lower back, neck, etc.
We have very reasonable prices for the Hispanic
community, plus the therapies I offer are wonderful and
you will leave here feeling great and relieved.Call us and
let's start coming back 100% today!
¿Cómo empezar a ahorrar?
hoy, que vivir gastando todo lo que ganas o sobre-endeudarse;
How to start saving?
Saving is the main basis for economic stability.
Saving a part of your monthly income for future
expenses is the smartest way to ensure that we
can meet our goals and be ready to cover any
emergency or even spoil ourselves when we
please.
How to start saving?: Start by saving 10% of your
income, leave them free of your general consumption
expenses. Creating the habit is very
important, saving for anyone is useful to get out
of financial difficulties or materialize dreams
without having to go into debt.
Saving will allow you to have a better life in the
future, it is much better to consume responsibly
in the present and save fixed amounts, either
weekly or monthly from today, than to live spending
everything you earn or over-indebtedness;
Saving will allow you to live calmly and will give
you the security and financial independence you
need to meet your goals and face life in a better
way. It is proven to lower stress levels, it also
guarantees safety for you and your family.
So what are you waiting for to organize your
expenses according to their importance? Prioritize
and achieve your goals
Solicitud de FEMA - The FEMA application
a sentirse listo.
Si no entiende
The information you see below is officially from the FEMA.gov page.
Can be intimidating to fill out a government form to get help when it has passed, therefore. Knowing what you
will be asked on the FEMA application and what information you need to have on hand can help you feel ready.
The FEMA application asks a lot of questions like your name, your home address, and the names of the
people you live with. Some required information that you will need to collect ahead of time, such as the Social
Security number of each family member. If your home was damaged and you had to move to a friend's house,
a hotel, or elsewhere, make sure you know the address where you are staying and what the phone number is.
Common Misunderstandings
When asked for your "damaged phone number": Provide the phone number you used at home at the time
of the hurricane, even if the number is still working.
FEMA will ask you about damage to your home and personal propertyPersonal:property is anything
other than land or part of the building, so it includes appliances, clothing, furniture, and anything else you own.
Pay particular attention to question 24: It asks if you or anyone in your household uses any type of device
to help you with your daily life, such as a wheelchair, walker, cane, hearing aid, or communication device. It
could also be a service animal, personal care attendant, CPAP machine, oxygen concentrators, or any other
similar medical device or services that assist with disabilities or activities of daily living. If anyone in your family
uses any of these items, be sure to check "yes" for this question.
Are you willing to move: This question means that you feel like you will have to move while the repairs are
being made. You are not committing to moving into a new home.
Important Reminders. If you had to evacuate before completing your application, you probably said that you did not know
the amount of damage, and therefore marked it as "unknown." As soon as possible, update your damage level to what
you think it is (from very little to destroyed) so that FEMA can continue to review your case. If you do not understand
something when submitting your application online, you can click on "Help for this page" at the top left of the form for
more useful information.
The chat messaging service WhatsApp, as well as the social
networks Instagram and Facebook, registered problems
around the world, without the reason being revealed at first.
The fall of the three social networks that are owned by
Facebook le thousands and thousands of people in virtual
disconnec on in different parts of the planet.
Given this, thousands of users did not know what to do or how to communicate with other people. Calls? Text messages?
Or email? All are valid op ons, but in a digital age like the current one, there are several op ons that users have in the
event of a massive failure of other pla orms. So much has been the rise of other pla orms that several users have even
switched to applica ons such as Signal and Telegram, which are becoming quite relevant right now. Signal is a free
messaging service that offers video, voice and text chat, voice and video calls with end-to-end encryp on, as well as
secure file and photo transfers. It recently became relevant when tycoon Elon Musk published a trill invi ng people to
use that pla orm. At that me, millions of downloads were made, even conges ng the applica on. It has several funcons
similar to WhatsApp and a very simple to use interface typical of this type of applica on for users and works under
the Signal Messaging Protocol, widely recognized as the most secure messaging protocol available.
Naturally, the unjus fied dependence on Facebook itself is a mirror that shows us our own dependence on Facebook. No
ma er who you ask, the demise of the pla orm revealed many truths. Among some of them: Facebook is too powerful,
because when it disappeared, so did Instagram and WhatsApp; but ... why when it collapsed for a few hours, did society
stand up? Why are we so concerned about their monopoly control of human a en on? The reality is that how we engage
with this network, this product, is solely up to us. Let's use technology in the best way, so that the result is posi ve.
Estrategia en temporada de Huracanes
Strategy in Hurricane season
Just when we think we can with everything, nature tells us that it is not like that and in this way
Ida arrived with an incredible force that made us remember the unfortunate events of Katrina
which arrived precisely the same day, but in 2005.
Before the arrival of Ida, many people left their homes to take refuge in hotels or with friends
in safe areas and it is here that we have to make decisions to be safe and protect our family
and even pets.
And despite the fact that there is a lot of information about what to do in case of hurricanes,
the truth is that when it comes to going out, we get on our nerves and we don't know where to
start. I recommend you always have your most important documents in a bag or folder where
we can take them easily. Identifications, passports, insurance policies, insurance cards and birth
certificates are among the most important, in this way we'll always have them located. It would
not hurt to have some savings to cover unforeseen expenses that will help us pay for hotels,
meals and other expenses.
Finally, there are always organizations that help in case of disasters and it is best to go to the
experts. Please do not be guided by what friends or acquaintances say. It is very important to
follow secure accounts with reliable information and have the numbers of correct emergencies.
Hurricane season ends on November 30, so plan your strategy in case of an emergency. And
let's keep in mind all the people who lost everything and if it is in our hands, let's help. We can
always make some kind of donation that will benefit the community in some way. Helping others
will always be a relief to our own being!
