Palmas Athletic Club honors “Wimbledon” and their members with special event July 9,1877, the All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club began the first lawn tennis tournament. This year, July 11, 2021, PAC and Volea hosted “ Breakfast at Wimbledon” to celebrate the tradition of the tournament and celebrate the passion of tennis in the community of Palmas Del Mar. Players showed up early, dressed in white, ready to play and have some tennis fun. The courts were filled with rain water, another eerie similarity to a repeat tradition in the finals of Wimbledon.Anxious to play, all acquired tools, and court was dry for play in 45 minutes time. After a competitive and social round robin, the finalist were surprised with their “ weapons”, Spalding wooden tennis rackets from “back in the day”. All giggled, some with a sense of shock, while the players entered center court for the final tiebreaker, all while the actual Mens Wimbledon Final was blasting in various locations at Volea. Players filled the tennis centers restaurant Volea, after play, to view the Wimbledon finals, while imbibing in their refreshing mimosa and special delectable Volea breakfast. This was a tennis aficionado’ s perfect day, especially for the winners. Palmas does it better! And the winners are:....
