Emergency...
What is the plan?

The PHA conference rooms were the site
of an interesting conference on strategies
and planning for a possible emergency in
our central / eastern area. It was sponsored
by the Association of Industrialists / Central
Eastern Region, the organization OKA (Project
Management & Strategic Leadership), RF
Maintenance, CIS International and NTS, as
well as several of the companies located in
our region. The importance of planning to
face an emergency is to ponder the alternatives
and ideas presented to join efforts
amongst all affected parties. The importance
of establishing community / governmental,
industrial and commercial relationships is to
emphasize the importance of guaranteeing
the safety of the surrounding citizens, businesses,
industries and government in the
event of an emergency. It is important to also
note the significance of educating the community
about climate change, emergencies
and awareness of
corporate responsibility.
Among
the companies in
our area that participated
in this
"Manufacturing
Meeting" were:
Amgen, Merk, Eaton,
Carmela and
Cristalia, among
others.
The conference
had a large group
of representatives
of the companies as
well as the presence
of several mayors,
among them: Ray
Vargas, mayor of
Humacao and Rafael
Surillo Ruiz, mayor
of Yabucoa.➤
Among the invited speakers
was the the Meteorologist,
Ada Monzón, and the Rescuer
and Commissioner Ing.
Ángel D. Ortiz from EATON.
Both shared lessons learned
and best practices when
working on the relationship
and interaction of industry,
government and community
to increase resilience on
our Island.
The Central Eastern Region of the Industrial
Association and its Director, Rafael Díaz, paid
a tribute to Mr. Xavier Muñoz, Director of the
Municipal Office of Emergency Management
of Las Piedras.
