The Pharmacy at Rutland Regional Medical Center
At Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Pharmacy, our mission is to deliver
superior medication-related care that supports excellent outcomes. Our
pharmacy staff is an integral part of the care team at Rutland Regional,
working closely with providers and nursing staff to provide outstanding
service with a focus on quality and patient safety.
With access to the latest and most advanced technology, our pharmacy
team offers top-notch pharmaceutical care through comprehensive clinical
and distributive practices. Our process is collaborative, interdisciplinary
and cost-effective. All processes and procedures are continuously aligned
with federal and state rules to ensure regulatory compliance.
Rutland Regional’s pharmacy service employs 20 pharmacists and 18
pharmacy technicians, as well as additional support staff. The team also
includes a pharmacist devoted to antimicrobial stewardship. In addition
to inpatient care, our group staffs three outpatient clinics and our on-site
retail pharmacy.
The Pharmacy Residency Program
PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy
(Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of
clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients
with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible
for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Our residents will develop important problem-solving skills, as well as
an understanding of their accountability and responsibility to their
patients. Our curriculum is designed to build upon their existing
knowledge of medication-related care by providing frequent and direct
patient care experience. Additionally, residents will learn to monitor and
assess their own performance to continually improve their practice during
their residency and beyond.
