POLO

release video for new

single 'CLUBLIGHT'

www.polomusic.co.uk

‘CLUBLIGHT’ takes aim straight for the

dancefloor with a hypnotic pulsing beat,

seductive vocals and pumping bass playing like

a cross between Charli XCX and Tinashe. The

video features the Leeds three-piece shrouded

by the ominous club lights that inspire the

intoxicating mystery of nightlife.

Regarding the single singer Kat McHugh says

“’Clublight’ is inspired by the type of nightclubs

spread across mainland Europe that are often

found in abandoned power stations or across

the Eastern bloc. The nightclubs where ideas of

sex and gender are dissolved, hedonism is

encouraged, and that are so exclusive you have

little chance of getting in unless you’re willing

to let go of all your insecurities.”

Continuing about the video they say, “The

video follows us into the fabled nightclub we

created, and sees us lose ourselves on multiple

levels. Our faces merge in a grotesque mass as

we fall into the club lights. We wanted a video

that mirrored the dark mythology of the

nightclub that we explored in the lyrics and

production of the song.”

The forthcoming debut album A Place Between

States finds Polo seamlessly traversing the

electronic pop sphere. It features previously

released singles including the poignant downtempo

‘A SOBERING THOUGHT’ and the

pulsating R&B tinged ‘HOLOGRAM’.

Speaking about the album synth/keys player

Luke Lount says, “The album has given us the

breathing space to explore ideas and concepts

we've not yet been able to when releasing

singles; we finally have space to be ourselves as

a band without limitations. Every band is

defined by their first album; this is us

establishing who we are.”

To celebrate the debut album release Polo have

announced a four-date headline tour for

February 2022. The band have made their

return to the live circuit this month following

the Covid-19 shut down and are currently

touring the UK with King No-One. They will

finish this tour with their own headline show at

The Crescent, York on October 7th 2021. Tickets

for the King No-One tour are on sale now and

tickets for the A Place Between States February

2022 headline tour will be on sale at 10am BST

tomorrow (September 28th). Tickets for all

tours will be available to purchase from the

band’s website .

Regarding the tour they say, “The ‘A Place

Between States Tour’ in 2022 will be the first

full public performance of the entire album.

We’ll be bringing the record to life across a few

special dates, hiring additional musicians and a

full stage set to help create the world where the

album exists. The album traverses different

spaces, emotions and states and we wanted to

bring that to our live shows.”

To mark the album release Polo have been

invited to perform a live session for BBC

Introducing and will be performing tracks from

the album live on air on October 30th.

We caught up with Luke and found out more about their music and the new album.

What first got you in to making music?

Electronic music, and how diverse it could be with

so little elements. We started remixing for other

artists before we performed as a band, and those

roots are still present in our music.

If you hadn't taken the musical path, what career

do you think you would have now?

I like to think we would be working in the creative

industry, perhaps for a video production company.

Could you describe your creative process?

We write together as a three. Sometimes one of us

will have most of a song complete, but then it'll be

passed through everyone else regardless. We use

production as a writing tool, and experiment with

sounds and synths in the same way we experiment

with chords and different structures.

If you could collab with any act, past or present,

who would it be and why?

Jockstrap. They make music that is truly unique. I'd

love to see their process.

Could you explain a little about the

inspiration behind 'Clublight'?

Clublight is inspired by the type of nightclubs

spread across mainland Europe that are often

found in abandoned power stations or across the

Eastern bloc. The nightclubs where ideas of sex

and gender are dissolved, hedonism is encouraged,

and that are so exclusive you have little chance of

getting in unless you're willing to let go of all your

insecurities

Which track off the new album would you say

means the most to you and why?

'A Place Between States' is the title track, it's very

important to all of us, and it definitely is for Kat. But

we all have a different opinion.

For me it's 'A Sobering Thought'. For Dan, it's 'Erase

You'. These songs particularly because we toiled

over them for a very long time.

How did lockdown affect your music and have you

had to change your plans because of it?

No, if anything it helped. Dan was on furlough and

my work was a little easier. Kat was working form

home but full time. Still, having all that time really

helped us focus on what we needed to do.

Finally, what does the future hold for Polo?

We're blinkered on the album release, and then the

following tour. What happens beyond then remains

to be seen.

LITTLE THIEF

Debut Album

'Under The Patio'

linktr.ee/LittleThief

Hot on the heels of their recent single ‘Freak' comes the

release of ‘Under The Patio’ the incredible debut album

from Bristol-based rock outfit Little Thief on September

17th. Alongside the album comes its title track ‘Under

The Patio’..

Formed in 2015 by long-time collaborators Charlie

Fitzgerald and Rhii Williams, Little Thief have created

their own brand of raw, gritty and soulful alternative

rock that defines itself. They have a handful of

successful singles under their belts which have seen

them play live sets at Glastonbury and Liverpool Sound

City Festival, as well as receiving support from the likes

of Far Out Magazine, RTE, Steve Lamacq (BBC 6), BBC

Introducing, XS Manchester and Amazing Radio.

With interest in the band quickly growing, they soon

began working with independent record label Funnel

Records, who shaped them into the band that they are

today. With the financial pressures of Covid decimating

the arts industry however, Funnel Records sadly are no

more, and so as a newly independent band, Little Thief

had to turn to Crowdfunder to help to create their debut

album, raising a whopping £5,000.

Speaking about the album, recorded with heavyweight

producer Stew Jackson (Massive Attack) at Rockfield &

Invada Studios, vocalist Charlie Fitzgerald states, “The

album was something we worked really closely with

Stew Jackson to make. It went to a pretty moody place

and the process was fun and weird and everything in

between. We watched a lot of Tommy Cash videos and

serial killer interviews on YouTube whilst writing the

album and then went to Rockfield in Wales for 10 days to

record it. We teamed up early on with the incredible Paul

Hopkins on his thunderous bass who was a formidable

addition to the album. Paul’s bass work and Stew’s

production on this one was paramount to the new Little

Thief sound. We’ve worked with Paul for years, and he

was a big part of the swag that has emerged through

making Under The Patio. All in all we wanted to make

something with a bit of swagger that was slower and hard

hitting.

The album as a whole is something we are so proud of.

It’s not been an easy ride, but since we held the finished

vinyl in our hands, it all felt worth it. It’s a beautiful

record and we are so happy to be finally getting out into

the world.”

Throughout Under The Patio, Little Thief’s visceral

lyricism takes the listener on an introspective journey of

human interactions, through casual lust-filled

encounters, lost loves and crimes of passion all the while

blending their inimitable brand of bluesy, gritty rock,

unmistakable swagger, Williams’ signature groove and

Fitzgerald’s cathartic, raw vocals.

Prior to the album comes it’s title track Under The Patio, a

track inspired by two VERY contrasting experiences. “The

first verse was written a few months previous about a

beautiful relationship between a couple of our friends

who were stunningly explosive and never seemed to see

a boring day. The rest actually came from having to

watch a real court case about a guy who had killed his

Step-Dad, cut him up and hid him in boxes under his T.V.

It was pretty fucking creepy.

“On the whole, it’s about being confrontational and

honest with yourself so that you have nothing to hide. In

a world full of toxic masculinity, it’s about owning up to

those elements of your own personality and putting

them out to dry”, explains lyricist Charlie Fitzgerald.

Little Thief’s debut album ‘Under The Patio’ will be

released September 17th on vinyl and will be available

on all major platforms.

Title track ‘Under The Patio’ was released September

10th and will be available on all major platforms.

Release latest explosive single

'Snakes And Their Children'

deathcultelectric.com

Following up on their recent single 'The

Fineprint', Welsh noise-rock supergroup

Death Cult Electric are set to release their

second single of 2021 'Snakes And Their

Children' today via Black Maraca Records.

With a handful of successful singles under

their belt since their formation in 2019, the

four-piece have received critical acclaim

from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Kerrang!

Radio, Radio X and Louder Than War. Fronted

by Steffan Pringle formerly of Estrons,

Pringle enlisted fellow Estrons live member

Craig Shankland on bass, Thomas Beedim on

guitar and then completed the lineup with

Alec Rees on drums.

Self-produced, mixed and mastered by the

band's frontman Steffan Pringle, best known

for his work with Boy Azooga, Himalayas,

Adwaith and his former band Estrons,

'Snakes And Their Children' is "a bouncy feel

good pop number celebrating the endless

lineage of transparently incompetent

overlords who remind us of our position in a

crumbling society. Our music is about

forgetting everything you've known before

and moving forward," explains Steffan.

With their own unmistakable brand of

dystopian noise-rock, the explosive,

adrenaline-fuelled track is a full throttle

musical assault, bursting with a barrage of

blown-out blazing guitar tones, candid lyrics,

ferocious vocals, pounding drums and

distorted riffs, all of which grab you by the

throat and don't let go until you turn blue.

Alongside the single the band will be

releasing a frantic, post apocalyptic music

video on the 29th, filmed and edited by the

band themselves. Using complex and

dystopian images inspired by 90s horror

movies and 80s music videos; the resulting

sensory overload feels Black Mirror-esque

and well worthy of anything David Lynch

shot at his most unhinged.

PLACEBO

Announce first new single

in five years ‘Beautiful James’

lnk.to/placebo-beautifuljames

Placebo have announced their first new

single in five years. Listen to ‘Beautiful

James’

here.

Over the course of more than 25 years, and

over 13 million album sales, Placebo have

shown themselves to be masters at

cataloguing the human condition. The

band’s unique way of examining both its

flaws and beauty has for a long time made

them a refuge for those who felt that the

trappings of tradition, and the mainstream,

were exactly that – a trap. Placebo continue

to shine a light on the aspects of our society

that are all too often viewed by some with

scepticism at best, and hatred at worst.

It is with some poignancy then that new

single ‘Beautiful James’ arrives, finding

itself born into a world that is as divided as

it has ever been. Against the backdrop of

splintering global relations, unchallenged

online abuse and widespread fear among

the narrow-minded of what they cannot

understand, ‘Beautiful James’ brings with it

a message of defiance that seeks to

normalize and celebrate nonheteronormative

relationships in song.

Brian Molko comments further about the

release of ‘Beautiful James’:

“If the song serves to irritate the squares

and the uptight, so gleefully be it. But it

remains imperative for me that each

listener discovers their own personal story

within it - I really don’t want to tell you how

to feel.”

Created through the glaze of insomnia, the

band turned their creative process on its

head in order to bring ‘Beautiful James’ to

life. It meant approaching their work

together in a new way, which began first

with photographic imagery and a song title

that evoked a certain feeling - long before

any music was written. The resulting song is

as powerful as it is tender – a resolutely

defiant and ultimately necessary piece of

art.

‘Beautiful James’ is not a polemic, or even a

conversation. It is a statement - one that is

as clear and bold as they have ever made.

EXIT_INTERNATIONAL

Celebrate 10 years of

'Black Junk' with remastered

limited edition coloured vinyl.

saysomethingrecords.myshopify.com/collections/exit_international

It's September 17th 2011; the sun is shining,

the birds are chirping and Exit_International's

debut album 'Black Junk' was released into the

world, and boy was it ready for it.

The critically acclaimed (Kerrang!, RockSound,

Alternative Press, The Quietus) Welsh Music

Prize-nominated debut album turns 10 on

September 17th of this year, and to celebrate

their baby turning double figures,

Exit_International will be remastering and rereleasing

the album on limited edition 180gm

coloured vinyl for the first time, also including

three brand spanking new, never heard before

bonus tracks.

With Black Junk Exit_International have

managed to create an album that, a decade on,

has still managed to retain all of it's, erm,

charm? Still as shocking and hard-hitting now

as it was 10 years ago, Black Junk is definitely

not an album to take home to your Mother.

Since their formation in 2009, the dual bass led

three-piece have created their own brand of

ear-shatteringingly aggressive rock, whilst

throwing in some singalong pop hooks for good

measure.

Recorded with Carl Bevan (60 FT Dolls) at his

home in a 72 hour chemical haze, their

explosive debut Black Junk demonstrates just

that. In a sound spectrum of their own, the band

unapologetically shuns the use of guitars yet

packs a double onslaught of bass into every bar

for maximum carnage. Coming in at just over 30

minutes, this short, sharp shock of an album is

an intense whirlwind of pummeling staccato

bass riffs, brutal, pounding drums and salacious

lyrics that are sure to make you blush. The

exhilarating ride is topped off by Scott Lee

Andrews whose voice effortlessly shape-shifts

from ferocious screaming, sinister, demonic

snarls and at times high pitched vocals that

sound downright inhuman.

Speaking about the album's re-release, bassist

and vocalist Scott Lee Andrews says: " 'Black

Junk' still sounds to me as fresh as when we

wrote and recorded it, we were not part of any

scene and really doing our own thing. You can

hear the absence of overthinking things. We

wrote these songs really quickly - from what I

recall it was on a rehearsal to rehearsal basis

then gigging them to just tighten the

performances. We spent 2/3 days in total

tracking the songs with most of that time spent

fixing broken studio gear with our producer Carl

Bevan (Drummer of 60FT Dolls fame). Listening

back reminds me how much we laughed and

how fun that period was, with perfectly

capturing that ridiculous lightning in a sonic

bottle. It really does capture the absurd aspects

of our personalities as people. It's a fantastic

debut and I'm still so proud of it, and the doors

it opened for us".

Renowned for their visceral live performance

and for unleashing sonic lunacy on stage, those

doors included, playing PA destroying sets on

the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds,

2000 Trees, Leopallooza, as well as touring the

UK, EU and Japan alongside the likes of Monster

Magnet, Blitz Kids, Ginger Wildheart, Baby

Godzilla, Pulled Apart By Horses, Kids In Glass

Houses, Future Of The Left, The Bronx, and more.

‘Someone’s Dog’ is a dreamy jazz-infused

record oozing with soul and themed on

heartbreaks and disappointments. The track

is produced and mixed by Robin Eveborn,

and has been recorded live with Eveborn on

keys and Jesper Hättander on drums.

Regarding the single Jelly Crystal says,

“‘Someone’s Dog’ is the only song that was

recorded live, which distinguishes it from

the other songs on the album. It’s a story

about people who put you under their

thumb and control you, leaving you to

stumble blindly through the precarious

topography of love. I wanted it to feel like a

young man in an old man’s body, so old but

still so modern and fresh!”

‘Someone’s Dog’ follows the release of

previous singles ‘Never Met a Cloud I That

Didn’t Like’ and ‘I Don’t Like Dancing’,

which are both taken from the upcoming

debut album and have seen Jelly Crystal

receive great support from the likes of DIY

Magazine, HERO Magazine, Marvin and

more.

‘Never Met a Cloud That I Didn't Like’

features Off The Meds frontman Kamohelo

and is a transfixing blend of African

percussion, psychedelic guitars and synths

along with smooth vocals and shimmering

harmonies set against a mesmerising funky

bassline. ‘I Don’t Like Dancing’ meanwhile

is an upbeat glam-pop jaunt calling to mind

New single

‘Someone’s Dog’

pias.lnk.to/freakshow

the likes of Alfie Templeman matched with

a suave late 70s air of Thin White Duke

Bowie.

Freak Show is an astounding debut album

drawing inspiration from the timeless

influential sounds of the 60s and 70s yet is

also injected with bold, experimental

moments only 2021 could produce.

‘Sweet Lime’ is a curious post-punk, psych

and world music concoction, while Jelly

Crystal also enlists some of Sweden’s most

exciting new music talents to guest on the

record, including lo-fi indie pop singer

Esther on the swooning title track, while

Stella Explorer duets with Jelly Crystal on

the grand ‘Bloody Mary’ which closes the

album to the effect of attending a prom

night on acid.

Jelly Crystal is the moniker of the

Stockholm-based artist Filip Johnson. As

Jelly Crystal he is the left-field glam rock

street entertainer on the Sunset Strip,

singing his heart out for nickels and dimes.

It is the music of the worn-out organ grinder

on Yellow Brick Road and a wide-eyed kid in

Wonderland. Innocence and decadence are

never far from each other in his dazzling

presence and Freak Show is the

introductory tale in his extraordinary

character’s odyssey.

LONA

Latest release

‘DARKEST DAYS’

Lona on Instagram:

@lonaforlife

Swinging back into the alt-pop scene,

rising star LONA unveils his latest

sensational release ‘Darkest Days’.

Laced with softly melancholic guitar riffs,

LONA’s gravely rock-edged vocal

performance punches through to reflect

the rawness of the song’s deeply

personal core message. Contrasting with

the captivating pop-infused melody, the

heartfelt and vulnerable lyricism sees

LONA speak from first-hand experience

about looking to the light at the end of

the tunnel to pull you through life’s

tests. Reflecting this idea of battling

through the tunnel, the track’s video

sees a spot lit LONA focus on the light to

overcome life’s darker moments.

Speaking on the track, LONA explains

“Darkest Days is a tale of two people

struggling in a relationship. It’s about

when the person you love is lost and

they feel like there is no way out of the

black vacuum inside their head. The song

is about being able to battle through

these times. It’s about knowing that life

won’t always be like this even though

you may see no way out. I personally

know that the darkest days don’t last

forever and that’s what this song is really

about. I saw no way out - but there was

and the people closest to me got me

through my darkest times. I wrote this

song for the people who may not have

other people to get them through. You’ve

got me.”

Already building serious heat with

critical acclaim from the likes of CLASH

and WONDERLAND, 2021 continues to be

a stellar year for LONA as he prepares for

his slot at the Isle of Wight Festival

where he is opening the main stage for

Liam Gallagher.

Continuing to enthrall fans and

tastemakers alike with his beautifully

honest song writing and hypnotic vocal

performances, LONA’s rock-infused pop

anthems underline him as a seriously

notable artist while he carves his name

into 2021 and beyond.

Following the huge success of their top

3 debut album in 2020, one of the UK’s

finest bands, Sea Girls, have announced

their enthralling, highly-anticipated new

album

Homesick - out 14th January 2022 on

Polydor.

A band well and truly into their stride,

Homesick sees Sea Girls, Henry

Camamile, Rory Young, Andrew Dawson

and Oli Khan, deliver thirteen measures

of guitar driven pop brilliance including

2 bonus Deluxe tracks. A deeply

personal record, lead singer Henry

Camamile returned to his childhood

home in Lincolnshire at the wake of the

pandemic, finding himself having to

address and reflect on events from his

past, both good and bad. A cathartic

process, Henry leaves nothing to the

imagination with his astute storytelling

and candid lyrics. Delving into some of

his darkest moments, the uplifting

album comes as a sense of relief, a

gratefulness for survival. Lyrically raw

and packed to the brim with hooks, the

band step into new realms with an

added sense of maturity and a bigger

ambitious sounding record.

Teaming long-term producer Larry

Hibbitt with Grammy Award winning

Producers Jacknife Lee, Jonny Coffer and

Cass Lowe to co-produce the record,

Henry reflects on the process: “Imagine

us locked down in the studio in rainy

Brixton working with the producers

remotely on the album in California’s

Topanga Canyon. That clashing of worlds

is the sound of this record, the DNA.

Making an album this way, remotely and

5000 miles apart, was a crazy idea and

shouldn’t have worked, but it did”

Premiered by Arlo Parks as the ‘Hottest

Record’ on BBC Radio 1 and debuted live

on the band’s frenetic mainstage slot at

Latitude Festival, the band drop the

album’s first taste with the infectiously

honest ‘Sick’.

“Sick is me listing things I’m pissed off

with and feeling sorry for myself, it’s a

growing up song where I realise I’m no

longer a young child. It’s me in my

bedroom at home ranting with my

thoughts and going down the hole of

being pissed” Henry said of the track. “I

used to love through to things that feel

vacuous, like consuming and buying. All

these emotions are piling up and it's me

just asking for a reset, a childish solution”

“It was a turning point in the writing for

this album where the songs became

about worrying for other people and how

they were feeling. The pivot where I

started writing clearly with a bigger

perspective. I literally feel myself

growing up throughout this song”

Sea Girls, one of the most exciting guitar

bands to have emerged in recent times,

are the torchbearers for the next wave.

Delivering sing-along anthems for the

masses, the band’s journey is well and

truly on its way.

New single

"LOSER"

linktr.ee/FakeShark

Fresh off the release of energising singles

“Time for the Future” and “Quicksand”

earlier in the year, Canada’s most exciting

alt-pop band Fake Shark are back with the

quirky, compelling alt-pop of “Loser”, the

third single to be taken from their

forthcoming new album.

Acoustic guitar chords ring out in a see-saw

rhythm over tight, punchy drums, driving the

song towards the defiant chant of its

massive singalong chorus. The song is a

timeless anthem for those who sometimes

feel like outsiders, and draws influence from

90s and 00’s indie rock whilst remaining

refreshingly contemporary.

Lead singer Kevvy explains: “Loser is a song

written from the perspective of someone

who’s just addicted to making lifedestroying

choices and they’re envious of

people with self-control. The video was

conceptualized by the brilliant director

Sterling Larose, who’s done hit videos for

Mother Mother and Son Real, and it’s about

leaning into your problems and owning them

and becoming famous for them.”

Through the years, Fake Shark – comprised

of long-time frontman and creative force

Kevvy along with Louis Wu, Tony Dallas, Alex

Glassford and Jake Fox – have amassed

hordes of loyal followers around the world

on the back of their unconventional and

undeniably distinctive brand of off-kilter

pop. In the vein of boundary-bending pop

innovators like Prince, No Doubt, Solange, or

their comrade Blood Orange, no two Fake

Shark albums are alike, yet all are instantly

recognizable as their own.

With multiple albums to their name – the

latest being 2020’s

House of Mirrors – Fake Shark’s grooveoriented

and melody-driven music has seen

them build significant support in their

homeland, alongside nurturing an

international fan base with sold out tours in

Japan, the UK and the US.

In addition to his work with Fake Shark,

frontman Kevvy has developed an

international reputation for his unique

musical vision, leading him to produce, remix

and write for a wide array of artists, from

household names like Carly Rae Jepsen and

Kat Von D to breakthrough talents like Fionn

and Michaela Slinger. Whilst also broadening

his musical palette by composing for film

Announce

2021 /22 tour

A musical resistance formed on the

backstreets of Barcelona ‘Kid

Hyena’ embrace the urban landscape of

the city with crafted electronic beats &

synth melodies. This they combine with

an alchemy of sound featuring tap

dance & body percussion, melodic

'alt rock' infused bass and heartfelt

voices sung in English and Spanish.

Both band members are keen lyricists

with an eye for writing about social and

cultural themes and their words are

integral to the bands make up and

trajectory.

Influenced by old school folk & hip hop

sounds, alternative rock and

experimental music the band have just

recently finished an exploratory period

of intensive recording where they

released three albums over two and a

half years.

Just recently the band have completed

their third album 'Gravitate' which

showcases their new 'Electro Alt Hop'

sound.

As ever the band cease to remain static

and continue to look for new innovative

ways forward with their music. They've

several projects currently on the go

including the acoustic 'Soapbox 21'

, a musical graphic novel, a new record

label and new material for an as yet

untitled album being recorded.

Now based in the UK, they have had

radio coverage on amongst others BBC

Essex & BBC Introducing, from the

autumn of 2021 the band are planning

a year long tour in a campervan to play

as much music as possible and raise

money for child protection charity 'War

Child'.

statement ‘Rebel Heart Club’ and

followed up in 2018 with musical

collage ‘B Side Fantasy'.

ASGARD RAVEN

'UNTIL ANOTHER DAY'

The tragic loss of a close friend in Afghanistan has inspired Asgard Raven to

pen a stunning rock track 'Until Another Day'.

The song deals with unexpected grief beautifully, capturing the thoughts and

emotions experienced during the hardest of moments.

Don't be fooled into thinking this is just a sad song all about loss, it is also a

tribute to good times remembered which is reflected well in the upbeat

tempo of the track.

'Until Another Day' is a stark warning to not take life for granted. Embrace

what you have while you have it.

A great track musically and lyrically and one that will be getting played again

and again.

Release date is 20th September

CRAIG GOULD -'AIN'T NO PLACE TO HIDE'

Singer songwriter Craig Gould's latest release 'Ain't No Place To Hide' is a

musical masterpiece.

There is no doubt that Craig is an accomplished artist. The genres of Folk

and Americana are combined with a hint of Country to create an real audio

delight.

Moving away from the music and the obvious vocal talent, the track does

have a serious side. Craig is focusing on the lack of social responsibility in the

current day and its effects on society.

Overall, this is a great piece of work. From the composition right the way

through to the production, you can hear just how much effort has been put

into making "Ain't No Place To Hide" a great track.

Craig is releasing this on the 15th of September. 'Ain't No Place To Hide' is

also part of a bigger project helping to raise awareness for UK mental health

charity CALM.

TEITR - "/Blue"

'Head down, eyes straight'. Those words are ingrained in my mind as I write

this review.

Taken from the track 'Social Apathy' which features on the latest EP '/Blue'

from Glaswegian Alternative Rock band Teitr (pronounced Tayter).

'/Blue' is a follow on from their earlier, self titled album and gives a new twist

on tracks from that release.

A mix of electronic rock and synth-pop perfectly complimented by the honest

vocals from Ryan Tait give Teitr a unique sound, and I mean that in a good

way not a 'oh yeah they have a unique sound, wink wink, nudge nudge' kind of

way if you know what I mean.

This album is an accomplished piece of work and shows of the band's

creativity and musical ability.

A real treat for the ears. You can get your hands on it here : '/Blue'

THE CLOUD SURFERS -'MAGNETS'

Australian rockers The Cloud Surfers have released their latest single

'Magnets'.

With its bluesy, rock tones and stunning guitar work, 'Magnets' gives the

listener everything they could ever want in a rock song.

A song of love, or animal magnetism at the very least. The vocal performance

lends itself perfectly to the subject matter and is backed up by skilful drum

play and some what sounds like an electronic organ which adds an extra

dimension to overall ambience of the track.

This track feels like a departure from their previous release 'Tumbling' which

had a more upbeat feeling to the track musically if not lyrically.

'Magnets' is a well rounded piece, hopefully it gives us a taste of good things

to come.

You can check it out here: 'Magnets'

WIL PROJECT 'NEW DAY'

Wil Project have recently released their latest single 'New Day'

taken from their forthcoming EP which is out later this year.

Fresh, clean vocals backed up with beautifully constructed

melodies 'New Day' showcases Wil Project perfectly.

Easy to listen to and hard to forget, 'New Day' will have your toes

tapping and your head nodding.

A great track to listen to in the car, the bath, the bar or anywhere

you need to here a bit of feel good music.

You can check it out for yourself here: 'New Day'

AKoustic Soul - "The Silence Within"

''The Silence Within' is one of the two new singles from award winning artist

AKoustic Soul and is a sensory delight.

In the artist's own words 'This song has 3 distinct parts named "Awakening",

"Angst" & "Closure" bound by a common chorus.'

The track takes you on a journey of self discovery. The message of self

believe is clear and an important one in the current climate.

The strong vocals from AKoustic Soul carry well throughout the piece and

relay the emotions of the lyrics perfectly.

Overall 'The Silence Within' is a solid track and would fit well on any playlist.

You can hear it here : 'The Silence Within'

CONTRAST RELEASE 'CRISIS'

'Crisis' is the latest single from the Liverpool based band,

Contrast.

Documenting the Coronavirus pandemic from a human

perspective 'Crisis' explores the emotions that many of us have

felt since the initial outbreak.

The accompanying video captures the reality of life during a

pandemic with scenes that we can all relate to.

'Crisis' showcases Contrast's musical and vocal abilities. And with

song writing as good as this you really are missing a treat if you

don't check them out.

KATIE DRIVES - 'FAKE SMILES'

'Fake Smiles' The debut 4 track EP from Katie Drives is a pop

rock masterpiece.

From the dark undertones of lead single 'Maniac' to the

lighter more humorous ' Why Fall In Love When You Can Fall

Asleep?', Katie showcases her vocal skill and song writing

ability with style.

The EP explores feelings of defiance, fear and insecurity

experienced by most young adults today.

Undeniably 'Fake Smiles' is a great toe tapper, but scratch

the surface and listen to the lyrics and there is a deeper side

to the record.

Released Available on 6th to of stream: August 2021: katiedrives.com

GOD IN A BLACK SUIT - 'NAILS'

God In A Black Suit have just released their debut EP 'Nails'.

Track one 'Alpha' is more of an atmosphere builder than

anything. It certainly draws you in and builds up the anticipation

for the rest of the EP.

That anticipation is rewarded with the title track 'Nails' which is a

great showcase for God In A Black Suit.

The EP has dark feel about it lyrically and this is matched

perfectly with the skilful instrumentals.

Our stand out track has to be 'You Don't Have Time' which

ironically is the shortest song on the EP.

There is no doubt that God In A Black Suit are carving a their own

niche with a great, unique sound.

A fantastic debut EP which is available to stream right now. :

ENGINES MADE FROM SOUP - 'DIG'

The latest single 'Dig' from Meresyside made indie three-piece Engines Made

From Soup has hit the streaming world with a bang.

A 'Dig' at the media machine, spreading news to sell papers, taking their cash

and driving away from their responsibilities when the proverbial hits the fan.

A real, honest in depth look into the modern media and the apparent lack of

ethics shown by some.

The track itself is one of the catchiest I have heard this year. The hook will stay

with you for a while and that's a good thing, it's an awesome hook.

Overall 'Dig' is a fantastic display of musical skill. Great job guys!

Keep an eye out for more good stuff coming from Engines Made From Soup

in the future.

You can check it out here: 'Dig'
