Day 10: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest<br />
Today is the day. After an early breakfast,<br />
head to the Uganda Wildlife Authority Park<br />
headquarters where you will meet fellow<br />
trackers and your guide, who will lead you into<br />
the forest in search of the mountain gorilla.<br />
These large primates are extremely rare, with<br />
only approximately 1,000 remaining. It can<br />
take 6 hours or longer to find a gorilla group –<br />
all at relatively high altitude. Although sightings<br />
cannot be guaranteed, the success rate is over<br />
95 per cent. You have the chance to get within<br />
metres of a habituated gorilla family, enjoying<br />
their company for an hour. Overnight at<br />
Mahogany Springs (or similar). (B, L, D)<br />
Days 11-12: Fly to the UK via Entebbe<br />
This morning, return to Entebbe via a flight<br />
from Kihihi airstrip. You will be met and<br />
transferred to Best Western Hotel, yours for<br />
day use, ahead of your departure flight. (B)<br />
