Directors’ Advice – from the IoD
IoD Edinburgh
branch roles
IoD Edinburgh & Lothians Branch is
looking for a Vice Chair and
Ambassadors for Events, Partnership
and Sustainability to join the memberled
Committee.
The Vice Chair will be a voice for
directors in the area, working
alongside the branch team to enable
members to connect with each other,
develop their personal learning and
skills and influence decision making at
the highest level.
The Partnership Ambassador’s role
will seek commercial opportunities for
the benefit of members and the
branch programme of events, while
maximising stakeholder engagement.
The Events Ambassador will lead on
co-ordinating and promoting the
branch-led programme of in-person
and virtual events, working closely
with the IoD executive team.
The Sustainability Ambassador’s
role is to be a champion for
sustainability, Net Zero and ESG and to
encourage members to sign up to and
participate in the IoD sustainability
hub activity, as well as to encourage
and support the branch to run events
of relevance to the theme of
sustainability and governance.
The voluntary positions have a
three-year term and are open to
members and non -members living or
working in the Edinburgh & Lothians
region. (Non-members will need to be
a member if successful).

provides IoD members with just that,
free of charge. Our expert advice
covers issues from raising finance to
board appointments and shareholder
disputes.
The service is:

Currently all appointments are
delivered by phone call
n Up to four appointments per
calendar year, 30 minutes each.
